Scrap Management Industries is looking to add a team member to operate our scale. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with computers, skilled at customer service, and be available Monday -Friday 7:30 - 4:30 and some Saturdays. 


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Obtains required information from customers for all transactions, completes required purchasing and shipping documents, and conducts daily reconciliations.
  • Collect paperwork, weights, and load information, and record into database.
  • Reviews all documents to ensure regulatory and company requirements are met.
  • Heavy data entry and clerical
  • Provide exceptional customer service through greeting and directing all customers upon entry of the yard
  • Verify incoming loads are safe and do not contain unacceptable material.
  • Ensure that customers and employees conduct all business in a safe manner and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Provide general upkeep of the scale house.
  • Occasionally answers the phone.
  • Work in a team environment and demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and communication.
  • Follow all safety practices including proper use of personal protective equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2 years' cash handling and direct customer service experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Basic math, account reconciliation, computer, and data entry skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with customers.
  • Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
  • Flexible to work off hours, weekends and holidays in an industrial environment which includes being outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Basic computer knowledge for work related purposes.
  • Monday -Friday, with 1/2-day Saturday shift as needed
  • Bilingual is a plus
