Job description

Big B Crane is a diverse crane company with Modern Crawlers, Trucks, and Rough Terrain Cranes, that stands ready to assist our customers in their next project.


We are currently looking for Experienced Crane Riggers.


We are also looking for a Heavy Haul driver with experience in RT and Crawler Crane moves. 


Qualifications
Minimum 1-year prior experience rigging cranes or similar equipment.
Good perception of math applications, weights, measurement, and balance
Ability to work overtime, weekends and/or holidays.
Heavy physical effort required.


SUMMARY Assembles rigging to lift and move equipment or material for construction project.


RESPONSIBILITIES
- Loads, transports, unloads and assists in selecting cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks and sheaves, according to weight and size of load to be moved
Knowledge of complex rigging; heavy rigging; changing crane boom and cable; electrical safety; ladder and scaffold safety; introduction to lifting machinery; wire ropes basics; basic rigging; fire prevention; sizing of chokers; load charts etc.…             


-Climbing, Balancing, Stooping, Kneeling, Crouching, Crawling, Reaching, Standing, Walking, Pushing, Pulling, Lifting, Grasping, Feeling, Repetitive Motions


-Gives direction to crane operator or hoisting engineer engaged in hoisting and moving loads to ensure safety of workers and material handled using hand signals, loudspeaker, two-way radio or telephone


-Sets up braces and rigs hoisting equipment using hand tools and power wrenches


-Assembles and disassembles cranes.


-Performs minor maintenance or cleaning activities of tools and equipment


-Aligns, levels, and anchors cranes and equipment.


-Responsible for observing all safety rules.


-Performs other duties as required.


-Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.


-Works under immediate supervision


-Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment.


-Must have valid DL and a clean MVR


-Up to 75% required.


-Must be able to pass a Drug Screen
