Job description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Communicate and listen effectively with customer, co-workers and branch manager
  • Specifically, understanding the customer's needs and communicating with the General Foreman to understand job scope and schedule
  • Maintain a safe worksite, free of safety hazards by monitoring compliance with project safety program requirements
  • Oversee direct manpower at the job site, always being cognizant of cost and scheduling impacts to ensure the manpower is at a profitable level (i.e. minimizing overtime hours)
  • Perform administrative duties such as yard and job site inventory, safety meetings, fall plans, hazard analysis, payroll time sheets, equipment rental, return tickets, change orders, time and material tickets, bill of materials, and other site paperwork accurately and neatly
  • Review and understand the pre-job plan to ensure that the job is built as bid and designed. Make sure that work done out of scope is documented and properly accounted for so that company may recoup as a change order
  • Supervise Scaffold crew(s) and perform craft specific, labor work on an as needed basis on a project

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on scaffolding experience in commercial or industrial environments.
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience leading scaffold crews in the field.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, scaffold designs, and structural drawings.
  • Proficient in completing daily scaffold inspection forms and maintaining documentation logs.
  • Capable of using job site reporting tools and software for timekeeping, inventory, and safety tracking.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with ability to interact with both field crews and management.
  • Demonstrated ability to train, mentor, and hold team members accountable for safety and performance.
  • Must be able to work at heights, in tight spaces, and in varying weather conditions.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.

Requirements:
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record; may require travel between job sites.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification required.
  • NYC SST (Site Safety Training) Card - 40 Hours Required (Local Law 196):
  • NYS Scaffold Law Awareness (Labor Law §240 and §241):
  • Familiarity with New York State Scaffold Law and its implications for fall protection liability and worker safety.
  • NYC DOB-approved scaffold Certification
  • Competent Person certification for scaffolding per OSHA standards (or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire).
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
  • Must be knowledgeable in OSHA, ANSI, and local/state scaffold regulations.
