Job description

Summary

Duties

  • Champions "The Layton Way" by delivering predictable outcomes for internal teams, external teams, and customers.
  • Ensures that "Constructing with Integrity" is delivered by working with honesty, unity, safety, and quality of work. 
  • Provide support to other craft workers on project site of structural construction, heavy concrete construction, demolition, and framing.
  • Maintain clean and safe work areas (sweep debris, gather and discard trash, scrap iron and wood, remove snow and ice).
  • Identify hazards associated with task assignments and ask questions when clarification is needed.
  • Load/unload materials as needed.
  • Have minimum tools associated with trade.
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Safety.

Qualifications                            

  • Performs essential duties and responsibilities efficiently, accurately, and safely with or without reasonable accommodation and without posing threat of harm to self or others. 
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and emails. Ability to write simple correspondence and emails.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Ability to apply understanding to carrying out simple one-or-two step instructions. 
  • Commits to and meets all scheduled attendance and production deadlines.
  • At least 18 years of age.

  • Raises substantial objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. (Lift)
  • Maneuvers small objects precisely by whatever means. (Pinch or pick)
  • Seizes an object by applying considerable force. (Grip)
  • Detects attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature, texture, tension, or force by tactile means. (Feel)
  • Expresses or exchanges ideas by means of the spoken work. (Speak)
  • Perceives the nature of sounds with no less than a 40db loss @ 500 Hz, 1,000 Hz, and 2,00 Hz with or without correction. (Hear)
  • Is subject to substantial repetitive motions of the body or its parts.
  • Must have good depth perception, field of vision, near acuity.
