Job description

Come join one of the fastest-growing industries today! Nor-Cal Controls engineers controls solutions for utility-scale renewable energy power plants and battery energy storage systems, and we are looking for a Network Designer (Engineer) I to join our stellar team! As a Network Designer, you will focus on network design, cybersecurity, high availability, virtualization and configuring/troubleshooting solar photovoltaic (PV) site network devices (e.g., firewalls, routers, switches), communication protocols for SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) projects, ensuring secure communication and NERC compliance. This role is open to in-office or hybrid work options with a starting salary of $94,600 - $115,000 annually.

What a successful Network Engineer will accomplish in the first 90 days:

Preferred Experience:

  • BS in Network Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years’ experience with configuring network routers, switches, and firewalls (Cisco, Fortinet and Palo Alto).
  • 3+ years’ experience with networking communication protocols TCP/IP Stack or OSI.
  • Knowledge and experience working with networking technologies and architectures (Fiber, Ethernet, Serial).
  • Have a deep understanding of troubleshooting network communication, layer 2 & 3 devices, firewalls, servers, and virtual environments.
  • 1 year experience troubleshooting industrial SCADA networking issues highly preferred
