We're looking for a seasoned, strategic sales leader to guide a team of Business Development Officers driving growth across our SBA group. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of leadership, market strategy, and SBA lending at a top SBA lender.

As an SBA Sales Manager, you will lead a geographically dispersed team of Business Development Officers responsible for originating SBA loans. You will develop and execute regional strategies that drive growth, enhance performance, and support the achievement of business goals.

This role offers high visibility, national exposure, and the opportunity to influence one of the bank's specialized growth areas.

What you will do

  • Lead and develop a team of Business Development Officers across a designated region, providing coaching, performance management and day-to-day leadership.
  • Drive business development strategy to achieve growth, revenue, and profitability goals within the SBA group.
  • Establish clear performance metrics and hold the team accountable for activities, pipeline development, and production results.
  • Maintain strong pipeline discipline through consistent inspection of activity, deal progression, conversion trends, and forecast accuracy.
  • Establish a regular coaching cadence with Business Development Officers to reinforce prospecting discipline, referral development, deal strategy, and consistent execution against production goals.
  • Drive market-level strategies that strengthen referral networks, expand centers of influence, and align SBA sales efforts with broader bank priorities.
  • Promote production quality by reinforcing appropriate deal selection, disciplined structuring, and effective partnership with credit, closing, operations, and business banking teams.
  • Partner closely with business banking teams to deepen client relationships, strengthen referral flow, and deliver a coordinated banking experience.
  • Identify market trends and competitive dynamics to inform strategy and maintain a strong market position.
  • Partner effectively with SBA credit and closing teams to support sound deal execution, timely communication, and a strong client experience.
  • Serve as a visible leader in target markets through periodic travel and direct partnership with Business Development Officers to support client development, pipeline growth, and market expansion.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Five years of banking or financial services experience.

  • Knowledge of SBA finance and underwriting policies.
  • Advanced expertise in sales strategy, business development, and relationship management.
  • Strong understanding of banking products, operations, and market dynamics.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing sales teams.
  • Demonstrated success partnering with internal stakeholders and external referral networks.
  • Established relationships with SBA centers of influence.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $158,310.00 - 193,490.00
