Special Education Coordinator
Deerfield Community School, a PreK-8 public school in Deerfield, NH is seeking a highly qualified and certified Special Education Administrator to join our collaborative administrative team. This leadership position plays a critical role in ensuring high-quality, compliant, and student-centered special education services for learners from Pre-K through age 22.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the Local Education Agency (LEA) representative for all PreK-8 Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Provide supervision, support, and evaluation of PreK-8 special education teachers and paraeducators.
  • Oversee the coordination of contracted services & related service providers.
  • Lead and monitor special education evaluations, eligibility determinations, and progress monitoring systems.
  • Develop and manage paraeducator schedules to ensure effective student support across settings.
  • Manage the special education budget, including purchasing & resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with the SAU #53 Out-of-District Coordinator regarding placements and services for students receiving programming outside the district.
  • Support high school students in partnership with the SAU #53 High School LEA to ensure appropriate programming and compliance.
  • Actively participate in administrative team meetings, building-level initiatives, SAU #53 committees, and professional development opportunities.
  • Contribute to a responsive, student-centered approach to problem solving and intervention.

Qualifications:
  • Certification as a Special Education Administrator (or eligibility) in the state of New Hampshire.
  • Strong knowledge of IDEA, special education law, and best practices in inclusive education.
  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Experience supervising staff and managing complex casework preferred.
