High school diploma or equivalent and one year of library, or relevant experience; or any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.
Job Description:
The Library Assistant II is responsible for conducting circulation functions in the Legal Information Center. They work under the supervision of Associate-in-Law.
Circulation Desk. Assist patrons at the Legal Information Center's Circulation Desk and respond to requests made via phone and email. Check materials in and out using the integrated online library system, and update patron and bibliographic records. Assists patrons with locating materials in our collection and in other libraries. Open and close the library as required. Monitor and report facilities and securities issues. Ensure patron compliance with library policies. Assist with shelving, shelf reading, inventory, shifting, and other projects as assigned.
Scholarship Repository. Coordinates and maintains the UF Law Scholarship Repository and related digital scholarship platforms. Communicates with faculty members, law school journals, centers, and clinics to ensure their scholarship and publications are accurately uploaded, organized, and maintained.
Collection Supplementation. Maintains the collection through the filing, shelving, and updating of looseleaf services pocket parts, and other supplemental materials to ensure resources remain current and properly organized.
Works on other library projects as needed including updates to policies, participation in team projects
NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE:
11am-8pm Wednesday - Thursday
9am-6pm Friday - Saturday
11am-8pm Sunday
Schedule can vary depending on the library hours and staffing issues.
Expected Salary:
Commensurate with experience
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent and one year of library, or relevant experience; or any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.
Preferred:
• Familiarity with integrated library systems.
• Experience with interlibrary loan or document delivery processes.
• Ability to manage multiple requests accurately and efficiently.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work professionally and collaboratively.
