Is Python replacing SAS?

For SAS Python professionals, Python is increasingly used alongside or as an alternative to SAS for data analysis, automation, and machine learning tasks. A SAS Python job typically involves using both SAS (Statistical Analysis System) and Python for data analysis, statistical modeling, or data engineering tasks. Professionals in this role work with large datasets, performing data manipulation, visualization, and predictive modeling. They often bridge legacy SAS systems with modern Python-based analytics, leveraging libraries like pandas, NumPy, and scikit-learn. These roles are common in industries such as finance, healthcare, and marketing, where data-driven decision-making is crucial.

Can we use Python in SAS?

SAS supports integration with Python through tools like SASPy, which allows SAS users, including those in roles like SAS Python developers, to run Python code within the SAS environment. This enables data analysts and data scientists to leverage Python libraries alongside SAS procedures for data manipulation and analysis.

How hard is it to get a job at SAS?

Securing a SAS Python job typically requires strong programming skills in Python and experience with SAS software, along with relevant data analysis or statistical knowledge. The difficulty depends on the candidate's experience, certifications, and the job market demand, but having a solid technical background and relevant projects can improve chances.
