Position Summary

The SAP Training Specialist I supports the execution of the project training strategy to enable successful end-user adoption and transition to future-state business processes and systems. Working under the direction of the Training Lead, this role assists in the design, development, deployment, and delivery of learning solutions and performance support materials for SAP implementation projects. The SAP Training Specialist also serves as an instructor for end-user training programs, supporting organizational readiness and knowledge transfer throughout the implementation lifecycle.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Supports the Training Lead in executing the overall training strategy for SAP implementation projects.
  • Designs, develops, deploys, and maintains instructor-led, virtual, self-paced, and computer-based training materials.
  • Prepares and maintains training catalogs and course schedules.
  • Develops instructor materials, including course outlines, facilitator guides, presentation materials, background information, and training aids.
  • Develops student materials, including participant guides, workbooks, handouts, quick reference guides, completion certificates, course evaluations, and other learning resources.
  • Conducts instructor-led classroom training, virtual instructor-led training, workshops, seminars, and computer-based training sessions.
  • Collaborates with functional consultants, subject matter experts, business stakeholders, and project teams to gather requirements and develop effective learning content.
  • Supports Train-the-Trainer sessions and end-user knowledge transfer activities.
  • Develops and maintains performance support materials to reinforce learning and improve user adoption.
  • Updates training documentation and learning content to reflect evolving business processes and SAP system functionality.
  • Tracks training participation, completion, and evaluation metrics.
  • Supports learner communications, training logistics, scheduling, and reporting.
  • Applies instructional design principles and adult learning methodologies to create engaging and effective learning experiences.
  • Promotes successful user adoption through high-quality training and performance support solutions.
  • Adheres to all certified processes as part of our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and information security, which includes actively participating in quality assurance activities and ensuring the protection of sensitive information in accordance with our security policies.
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned by direct supervisor.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or three (3) years of related experience in training, instructional design, adult learning, organizational change management, SAP, ERP systems, or a related field.
  • Up to three (3) years of professional experience supporting training, instructional design, organizational change management, or ERP/SAP implementation projects.
  • Experience developing instructor-led and participant training materials.
  • Experience facilitating classroom, virtual, workshop, seminar, or computer-based training.
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional project teams.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an active government clearance (requires U.S. citizenship).

Nice to Have:

  • Experience supporting SAP S/4HANA implementation projects.
  • Experience with SAP Enable Now or similar digital adoption or learning management platforms.
  • Familiarity with instructional design methodologies and adult learning principles.
  • Experience developing job aids, quick reference guides, and other performance support materials.
  • Experience supporting organizational change management initiatives.
  • Experience supporting U.S. Federal Government or Department of Defense clients.

Motor/Sensory/Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods of time, including use of a keyboard, mouse, and standard office equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret information displayed on computer screens, printed documents, and electronic reports.
  • Ability to lift and carry light materials (e.g., documents, binders, or small office equipment), typically up to 15 pounds.
  • Ability to attend meetings in person or virtually, as required.
  • Ability to travel independently to client sites, including air and ground transportation.
  • Ability to navigate airports, client facilities, and office environments, which may involve walking moderate distances.
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods during client meetings, workshops, or site walkthroughs.
  • Ability to work in varying environments, including client offices, conference rooms, and controlled industrial or warehouse-adjacent spaces (as applicable).

Compensation: In accordance with pay transparency law, the expected salary range for this position is $61,000 – $80,000 annually. The actual compensation offered will be determined based on factors such as the candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, and location. We are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. This posted range reflects our good faith estimate of the compensation we reasonably expect to offer for this role at the time of posting.
