Position Overview

The Supply Chain Project Manager leads highimpact, crossfunctional initiatives across multiple BWXT locations to improve performance, reduce cost, enhance service levels, and support strategic growth. In this role, you'll guide projects from concept through implementation, ensuring strong alignment with business objectives, clear stakeholder communication, and timely execution.

Hybrid schedule in Lynchburg, VA, Erwin, TN, or Barberton, OH

Your Day to Day as a Project Manager:

  • Leads critical supply chain initiatives-including process improvements, system implementations, network optimization, inventory strategies, and supplier transitions-to drive measurable performance gains.
  • Develops and manages detailed project plans, timelines, and deliverables to keep initiatives on track and aligned with objectives.
  • Facilitates cross-functional collaboration between procurement, logistics, manufacturing, IT, finance, and customer-facing teams.
  • Analyzes data to uncover supply chain gaps, opportunities, and risks, turning insights into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Monitors project progress and provides regular updates to leadership, ensuring risks and roadblocks are quickly escalated and effectively mitigated.
  • Supports management activities including training, documentation, communication, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Tracks KPIs and project financials to measure outcomes and confirm value realization.
  • Identifies risks, develops mitigation strategies, and keeps stakeholders informed with proactive communication.
  • Ensures all activities comply with company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Project Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of Project Management experience.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex, multisite, crossfunctional projects.
  • Experience managing scope, cost, schedule, and external vendors.
  • Proficiency with project management systems and tools with strong analytical skills; proficiency with data tools such as Excel, Power BI, or similar platforms.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership capabilities.
  • Ability to manage risk, escalate effectively, and drive timely decisionmaking.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
  • Proven stakeholder management and negotiation abilities.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience leading supply chain initiatives.
  • PMP or similar project management certification.
  • Lean/Six Sigma experience or continuous improvement background.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
  • Change Management experience.
  • Working knowledge of supply chain and procurement processes.

Pay: $70,000 - $103,000

The base salary range for this position in Virginia (US-VA) at the start of employment is expected to be between $70,000 and $103,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,' unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.  The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
