4-6 Months Contract W2; Hybrid 4 Days Office - Friday Remote

We are seeking a Manager, Category Procurement to lead strategic procurement, materials management, and inbound transportation initiatives that support business growth and supply continuity. This role is responsible for developing category strategies, optimizing costs, managing supplier performance, mitigating supply risks, and driving digital transformation through SAP, e-sourcing, automation, and analytics. The ideal candidate will partner with cross-functional teams to enhance operational efficiency, governance, and end-to-end supply chain performance in a manufacturing or CPG environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute category strategies for raw materials, packaging, and indirect spend.
  • Lead supplier selection, contract negotiations, supplier relationship management, and cost optimization initiatives.
  • Manage inventory planning, replenishment, obsolescence, liability, and supply continuity during product launches and transitions.
  • Oversee inbound transportation, logistics strategy, and risk mitigation across supplier networks.
  • Drive digital procurement initiatives using SAP, e-sourcing, automation workflows, and analytics dashboards.
  • Partner with Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Commercial, and Executive teams to improve service, working capital, and supplier performance.
  • Ensure procurement governance, ethical sourcing, compliance, KPI reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, Materials Management, or Transportation within manufacturing or CPG.
  • Strong expertise in category management, supplier negotiations, cost optimization, inventory management, transportation operations, SAP, procurement systems, analytics, and automation.
  • Proven experience managing large spend portfolios, complex supplier networks, and executive-level stakeholder relationships.
  • Excellent financial, communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills with a strong governance and continuous improvement mindset.
