Job description

Position Summary

USAC is looking for a Planner/Scheduler to assist with maintaining our Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) SAP Plant Maintenance (PM). The ideal candidate will support Operations Personnel at regional offices and compressor stations. The Planner/Scheduler is empowered to manage Compliance, Preventative, and Unplanned Maintenance by developing weekly maintenance schedules. The role ensures maintenance orders accurately capture various metrics related to the inspection, repair, and management of technical assets used to produce timely and accurate reporting for internal and external purposes, as applicable, and aid in closing out all maintenance orders.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Working with Operations to define valid work requests per company standard operating procedures (SOPs), best practices, maintenance standards and procedures or site-specific requirements and prioritizing, planning and scheduling, including following-up on accuracy of maintenance orders in SAP PM.

  • Create and update maintenance plans in SAP PM, reviewing all planned work requests from assigned area and determining validity and accuracy of information and engage the appropriate resources to set a preliminary priority.

  • Proactively engaging with Operations management to optimize workforce and minimize downtime by planning and managing work in advance. 

  • Assist operations by assigning scheduled maintenances within SAP PM, reviewing work request for accuracy and clarity: clear scope of work, realistic completion dates, proper lead times, compliance, and correct equipment identification.

  • Manage the status of maintenance work orders from creation to completion. Status may include ready to schedule, scheduled, waiting for labor, waiting for parts, field complete, etc.

  • Escalate issues to the Operations Manager for maintenance work orders that are not completed. Issues may include waiting for labor, waiting for parts, waiting for measurement points, waiting for external costs, etc.

  • Creation and submission of compliance, PM, and Corrective Work Order Backlog Reports to all management on a weekly basis

  • Travel to assigned areas as needed to assist operations with SAP PM

  • Troubleshoot technical SAP PM issues as they arise

  • Assist with internal and external audits to ensure compliance

  • Assist with submission of request for Master Data in SAP PM

  • Provide support, testing and validation for upgrades to SAP PM

  • Maintain documentation for processes being utilized in SAP PM

Requirements:

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position, including, but not limited to, are listed below:

  • Bachelor's degree or HS diploma or equivalent experience

  • 2 - 5 years of experience

  • SAP PM experience preferred

  • General software computer skills necessary to support the configuration, implementation and use of SAP PM

  • Understanding responsibilities of Planner/Scheduler

  • Possess a general working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite

  • Effective time management and organizational skills

  • Ability to work under pressure with changing priorities and minimal supervision

  • Possess analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with regulatory compliance or other schedule-driven maintenance activities related to equipment and work order management

  • Ability to effectively engage with operations and understanding of mechanical/technical a plus

  • Knowledge and utilization of Microsoft Excel and Excel functions

  • Usually, normal office working conditions.

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.

  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
