The SAP Technical Manager is responsible for managing a team of SAP ABAP developer and integration developer in the areas of design, analysis, development/coding, testing, debugging and documenting programming assignments to satisfy business requirements. The primary job with this role is focusing on the software development lifecycle for new software solutions and supporting existing ones already in production.

FARO’s Global Business Systems is seeking a hands‑on, dynamic and seasoned Manager IT, SAP Technical to lead Development and Integration CoE team and partner with cross‑functional business functions to deliver sustainable SAP platform solutions supporting the FARO’s core business processes.

This role is responsible for all aspects of SAP technical initiatives in the organization and will lead a diverse team (SAP ABAP Developer, and Integration Developers) leading efficient delivery of business‑driven SAP programs and day‑to‑day (operational and tactical) business needs. The individual must have hands‑on expertise in ABAP ECC 6.0, S/4HANA, SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), and Fiori and should focus on translating functional requirements into technical requirements enabling SAP platform‑based business solutions successfully.

This role requires a blend of leadership, business acumen, relationship management, business process understanding, project planning, project execution, application maintenance skills and is responsible for leading a full range of activities across one or more programs or projects with varying degree if complexity and scope, while partnering with internal customers and other stakeholders.

This position provides strong technical expertise in SAP architecture, development, and integration, along with leadership skills to manage a team of SAP professionals and collaborate with business stakeholders, while leading entire SDLC cycle to address project needs involving commercial and supporting teams with an aptitude to successfully and timely completion of all tasks/projects under direct and matrix environment.

This role will be the part of FARO’s team in Lake Mary, Florida, but would consider other FARO_Creaform locations in US or Canada. This is considered a hybrid role, requiring a minimum of 2 days in the office per week. The salary range for the position is $145,000- $175,000.

  • Execute the implementation of long and short-term strategic and operational plans supporting and aligning with the organization’s priorities and business needs.
  • Provides inspired leadership and fosters a cohesive robust team culture that gets results through commitment, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high‑level information into details, abstract up from low‑level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
  • Lead and manage the SAP technology development team and manage Jira Board for Sprint releases and Incident Management providing guidance, mentorship, and support.
  • Lead SAP Development & Integration CoE, SAP technical design, architecture, and development across SAP ECC, SAP CPQ, SAP CPI/BTP, and SAP Integrations with SAP technical standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with multi‑functional teams to gather requirements, define scope, and develop sprint plans.
  • Ensure the successful delivery of SAP projects on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Lead and drive daily operational and tactical needs as well as ongoing projects across SAP platform (ECC, CPQ, BTP (CPI), forms, data analysis, reporting, and data integration between SAP and diverse systems such as Salesforce, Workday, etc.).

  • Drive the translation of business needs into technical requirements, functional specifications, architectures, and implementation of concepts.
  • Champion a continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Monitor SAP system performance, ensuring high availability and minimal downtime.
  • Collaborate with SAP BASIS team to manage system upgrades, patches, and migrations.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to useAItools to improve productivity, decision‑making, work quality, and to reduce costs. The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI‑generated outputs.

This position requires:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of experience OR Master’s/Doctoral degree with 10+ years of experience and 5+ years managing people.
  • 7+ years of hands‑on experience in leading, managing and supporting SAP ABAP, SAP Integrations, Forms, and Data Analysis.
  • 5+ years of experience in leading and managing SAP development and integration teams.
  • SAP S/4 HANA Migration Experience and SAP ABAP Certification.
  • Hands‑on experience in SAP with strong technical experience (SAP ABAP, SAP architecture and ABAP Object Oriented Programming), while driving end‑to‑end technical design, SAP integration, translation of functional requirements to technical specifications and data privacy.
  • Hands‑on experience on BTP (CPI), CDS Views, BAPIs, OData, Fiori/UI5, IDOCs, RFCs, Web Services, AMDP, Workflows, OData, BADIs, and excellent problem‑solving, system diagnosis and root cause analysis skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills enabling real‑time prioritization with a strong ability for holding the team accountable to results.
  • Establish relationships and work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams and optimum service levels, including pursuing continuous improvements of technical operations using SAP best practices.
  • Strong cross‑functional leadership skills, self‑motivated and ability to influence with a high degree of adaptability, flexibility, creative decision‑making, and technical problem‑solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership and manage technical projects, including identification of project scope, requirements, deliverables, and coordination of project design and implementation activities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in a multicultural, multinational environment with ability to handle multiple projects with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to effectively assess team capabilities to develop and build upon their strengths and development gaps.
  • Ability to motivate, effectively delegate, coach team members and create a positive working atmosphere.
  • Ability to think strategically, deal with ambiguity, synthesize complex data and develop innovative solutions with an end‑to‑end mindset and identify, track, and help resolve cross‑portfolio dependencies and conflicts.
  • Strong experience in project management and agile development methodologies with PMP and/or CSM certification.
  • Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, and Agile methodologies for SAP development.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • SAP ABAP Certification.
  • SAP BTP (CPI) Integration Experience.
  • Hands‑on experience with RAP (Restful ABAP Programming).
  • Hands‑on experience with CAP (Cloud Application Programming).
