Automotive Logistics Consultant (ERP/SAP Expert)
Position Type: Independent Consultant (1099 or LLC)
Locations: Continental United States
Travel Required: 85-100%

Our consultants are industry experts, providing tactical operational wins to OEMs and T1 Suppliers via extensive industry knowledge, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, and a passion for making hands-on changes to warehouse and production floors rapidly.
  • Configure, maintain, and support ERP/SAP planning and scheduling modules (PP, MM, APO, IBP, or equivalent).
  • Develop and manage master production schedules (MPS) to align with customer demand, inventory targets, and capacity constraints.
  • Ensure accurate Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and capacity planning to avoid shortages or overproduction.
  • Collaborate with production, procurement, and supply chain teams to resolve scheduling conflicts and maintain continuity of supply.
  • Analyze planning data to identify bottlenecks, risks, and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Lead workshops and training sessions for client stakeholders on SAP/ERP planning functionalities and best practices.
  • Support ERP data integrity, master data management, and transaction accuracy for planning/scheduling activities.
  • Provide documentation, reporting, and knowledge transfer to ensure long-term client self-sufficiency.

Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience in Master Planning, Scheduling, and Materials Management within manufacturing environments.
  • Hands-on ERP/SAP expertise in planning/scheduling modules (PP, MM, APO, IBP, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of production planning principles (MPS, MRP, CRP, finite/infinite scheduling).
  • Experience analyzing capacity, lead times, and demand forecasts to develop executable schedules.
  • Proven ability to identify and implement process improvements within ERP/Planning workflows.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills for engaging with cross-functional teams and client stakeholders.
  • Experience with automotive, aerospace, or other high-volume discrete manufacturing industries.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, supply chain optimization, and continuous improvement tools.
  • SAP certification or equivalent ERP system training.
