CSCI Consulting is looking for a SAP HAZMAT Functional resource to support our DoW client. In this role, the consultant will support a large-scale enterprise modernization initiative focused on transforming legacy logistics and transportation management capabilities into an integrated SAP S/4HANA environment. Collaborated with functional stakeholders, technical teams, and business process owners to design and implement modernized supply chain, transportation, hazardous materials, and logistics processes that improved operational efficiency, data visibility, and mission readiness. Contributed to business process reengineering, requirements development, system configuration, testing, data migration, and deployment activities supporting the transition from disparate legacy systems to a unified enterprise platform. Playing a key role in enabling standardized business processes, enhanced decision-making, and long-term sustainment of a modern digital logistics ecosystem.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a functional subject matter expert for SAP HAZMAT and Dangerous Goods-related business processes within the SAP S/4HANA environment
  • Analyze customer and program requirements related to hazardous material identification, classification, storage, handling, movement, transportation, and reporting
  • Support configuration and functional design of SAP capabilities used to manage hazardous and regulated materials
  • Maintain and validate HAZMAT-related master data, classifications, attributes, and regulatory information associated with materials
  • Support integration of HAZMAT requirements across SAP functional areas, including Materials Management (MM), Transportation Management (TM), Extended Warehouse Management (EWM), Sales and Distribution (SD), and other applicable logistics processes
  • Support Dangerous Goods Management processes associated with the transportation and shipment of regulated materials
  • Ensure HAZMAT requirements are appropriately incorporated into material movement, shipping, receiving, warehousing, and transportation workflows
  • Collaborate with business process owners and functional SMEs to translate operational and regulatory requirements into SAP functional requirements and system solutions
  • Develop functional specifications, process flows, configuration documentation, business requirements, and system design documentation
  • Identify functional gaps and recommend SAP-standard solutions, configuration changes, enhancements, or process improvements
  • Support data migration, cleansing, validation, and reconciliation activities associated with hazardous material data
  • Participate in system integration testing (SIT), user acceptance testing (UAT), regression testing, and defect resolution
  • Develop test scenarios and validate end-to-end HAZMAT processes across integrated SAP modules
  • Troubleshoot functional issues and coordinate with technical development, integration, security, and infrastructure teams to resolve system defects
  • Support compliance with applicable federal, DoD, transportation, environmental, and hazardous material regulations and policies
  • Assist with development of standard operating procedures, training materials, job aids, and end-user documentation
  • Participate in workshops, design sessions, demonstrations, and customer working groups to support implementation and continuous improvement activities
Minimum Requirements
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Experience supporting SAP functional implementations, sustainment, or modernization efforts
  • Functional knowledge of hazardous materials, Dangerous Goods, regulated materials, or environmental health and safety processes within SAP.
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA and/or related SAP logistics capabilities
  • Understanding of material master data and its relationship to logistics, warehousing, transportation, and supply chain processes
  • Experience gathering business requirements and translating requirements into SAP functional designs and system configurations
  • Experience supporting functional testing, defect management, and system implementation activities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex cross-functional SAP processes
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with functional, technical, business, and customer stakeholders

  • SAP certification in a relevant functional area is preferred but not required
