Job Title: Demand Planner
Job Description
The Demand Planner supports and manages the demand planning process by collecting, analyzing, and maintaining high-quality demand data. This role develops reliable demand forecasts within the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) cycle, ensuring strong alignment between commercial inputs, revenue projections, and supply chain requirements. Operating with a high level of autonomy, the Demand Planner contributes insights, challenges assumptions, and drives continuous improvement in forecast accuracy and planning processes.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve demand forecasts using historical data, statistical models, and validated commercial inputs.
  • Create accurate and reliable demand plans by consolidating inputs from internal divisions to support integrated demand and projected revenue planning.
  • Clearly communicate demand plans to Supply Chain teams to enable effective supply, production, and inventory planning.
  • Actively identify demand risks and opportunities and propose mitigation or improvement actions.
  • Use and maintain demand planning software and SAP demand planning modules (such as SAP IBP, SAP APO, or SAP ERP) as primary planning tools.
  • Analyze multiple demand scenarios to support business decision-making and define realistic and robust demand plans.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and master-data quality within SAP and demand planning systems.
  • Support enhancements to planning models, parameters, and processes in collaboration with IT and Supply Chain teams.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Customer Service, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Finance to gather, review, and validate demand assumptions.
  • Play a key role in S&OP meetings by presenting demand analyses, explaining variances, and supporting demand consensus.
  • Facilitate effective information flow among internal divisions to enable aligned decision-making and a robust demand consensus plan.
  • Act as a point of contact for demand-related topics within the assigned scope of products, customers, or regions.
  • Prepare regular demand planning reports and dashboards using SAP and planning tools.
  • Monitor forecast accuracy, forecast bias, and other relevant demand planning KPIs.
  • Perform root-cause analysis of forecast deviations and support corrective and preventive actions.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing forecast reliability and planning efficiency.

Essential Skills
  • 3+ years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, supply chain planning, inventory planning, or a related analytical role (2-5 years of experience acceptable based on overall profile).
  • Hands-on experience with SAP demand planning solutions such as SAP IBP, SAP APO, SAP ERP demand modules, or equivalent tools.
  • Strong understanding of S&OP / Integrated Business Planning (IBP) processes and cross-functional planning dynamics.
  • Proven experience in inventory management, inventory planning, inventory control, and inventory reconciliation.
  • Strong analytical skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience in reporting, data analysis, and KPI tracking within a supply chain or planning environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Economics, Business, Statistics, or a related field.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience working with business intelligence (BI) tools is a plus.
  • Experience in purchasing or supply chain management functions.
  • Ability to challenge assumptions constructively and contribute to continuous improvement of planning processes.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with Sales, Customer Service, Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance, and IT stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple demand scenarios and support data-driven decision-making.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining data quality and master data integrity.

Work Environment
This role is based fully onsite across locations in West Nyack and Congers. After an initial training period onsite, the position transitions to a hybrid schedule with three days per week onsite and the remaining days worked remotely. The Demand Planner works closely with cross-functional teams in a collaborative office environment and uses SAP demand planning solutions, Excel, and related planning and reporting tools on a daily basis.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
