Job description

Title: SAP Basis Administrator
Location - Downtown Houston, TX
Hybrid: 4 days onsite, 1 day remote
Employment Type: long-term Contract
 
Job Description: We are hiring an SAP Basis Administrator to focus on system security, vulnerability management, and patching across our SAP landscape and related technologies. The ideal candidate will work closely with various cross-functional teams, including Compute (OS/Infrastructure), SAP Security, and Application teams, to ensure system security, stability, and compliance with organizational policies.
 
Key Responsibilities
Work with the Compute/Infrastructure teams to address and remediate server vulnerabilities (Operating System patches) impacting the SAP environment.
Coordinate with the Basis and SAP Security teams to apply SAP Security patches (SAP Notes and Support Packages).
Collaborate with Basis and Application teams to implement OS and application configuration changes (such as enabling or disabling specific features) as directed by the Threat and Vulnerability Management (TVM) team.
Implement patches and updates to SAP-related applications, including but not limited to Tomcat, Java, OpenText, and other integrated third-party systems.
Work with Application teams, Basis, and Compute teams to proactively plan and schedule application/OS upgrades, patches, and required system outages, minimizing disruption to business operations.
Participate in the change management process, ensuring all changes are documented, tested, and approved.
Maintain up-to-date technical documentation for processes, procedures, system configurations, and security policies.
Provide support during audits related to system compliance and security.
Proven experience in SAP Basis administration, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of SAP landscapes (e.g., S/4HANA, ECC, BW, Solution Manager).
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
