Job Title: Senior SAP Basis / SAP Administrator (ECC & HANA)

Location : Los Angeles, CA (hybrid model from day 1)

Experience: 10+ years of relevant SAP Basis / SAP Administration experience

Interview Mode: In-person final round

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Senior SAP Administrator (SAP Basis Consultant) with strong hands-on experience in SAP ECC and SAP HANA database administration. The ideal candidate should have deep expertise in SAP system lifecycle management, performance monitoring, security, and database operations, with proven experience managing complex SAP landscapes.

Key Responsibilities:

SAP Basis Administration

Perform SAP ECC system installation, configuration, and upgrades

Manage Support Packs, Kernel patches, Add-ons, and Enhancement Packs

Execute system refresh activities including:

Client export/import

System copy (homogeneous/heterogeneous)

Post-refresh validations

Plan and perform SAP upgrades and migrations

Handle backup and recovery strategies for SAP systems

  • Perform transport management (STMS) and landscape coordination

SAP HANA Database Management

Administer SAP HANA databases (single-node and scale-out)

Perform HANA backup, recovery, and system replication

Monitor and tune HANA performance (CPU, memory, disk, expensive statements)

Manage HANA revisions, patches, and upgrades

Handle HANA space management and housekeeping

  • Troubleshoot HANA alerts and database-related issues

Monitoring & Operations

Monitor SAP systems using ST22, SM21, SM50/66, DBACOCKPIT, RZ20

Proactively manage system performance, dumps, locks, and queues

Manage background jobs (SM36/37) and workflow troubleshooting

Monitor and troubleshoot IDocs, RFCs, and interfaces

  • Ensure high availability and system stability

Security & User Administration

Perform SAP user administration

Manage roles and authorizations

Conduct periodic security audits and compliance checks

Support SOX and audit-related SAP controls

Space & Capacity Management

Manage tablespace growth and cleanup

Perform database reorganizations and housekeeping

  • Plan capacity management for SAP systems and databases

Required Skills & Qualifications

10+ years of SAP Basis / SAP Administrator experience

Strong hands-on experience with SAP ECC (Any EHP)

Strong expertise in SAP HANA database administration

Experience with Linux/Unix operating systems

Knowledge of SAP Solution Manager (monitoring, ChaRM – preferred)

Experience supporting production SAP systems with SLAs

Excellent troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills

Strong documentation and communication skills

  • SAP Basis or HANA certification(s)

Nice to Have

Experience with SAP migrations to HANA

Exposure to HA/DR solutions

  • Experience in regulated or enterprise-scale environments
