Job description

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Cyber Analyst to support secure and non‑secure network operations at Fort Shafter, HI. This role focuses on Tier 3 system and network administration, VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure) support, and cybersecurity compliance for mission‑critical Army environments. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in Windows environments, virtualization, STIG compliance, and enterprise network security, with the ability to operate in a fast‑paced Joint Operations Center supporting senior leadership.

Work Environment:

  • Full‑time, on‑site role at Fort Shafter, HI supporting mission‑critical Army network operations and cybersecurity functions in a Joint Operations Center environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide Tier 3 technical support and administration for VDI thin‑client environments across classified and non‑classified networks.
  • Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Windows systems (Windows 11, Server 2016/2019) within enterprise environments.
  • Manage and secure Active Directory environments, including Group Policy Objects (GPOs).
  • Apply and document DISA STIG compliance to ensure systems meet DoD security requirements.
  • Support VMware environments including installation, configuration, and management.
  • Administer SCCM for software deployment, updates, and compliance management.
  • Manage storage systems including SAN configuration and maintenance.
  • Support VOIP systems, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and collaboration tools.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain VDI systems to ensure uptime and operational readiness.
  • Provide end‑user support and maintain high levels of customer service in operational environments.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs, documentation, and reporting on system performance and incidents.
  • Support network security operations, access controls, and compliance with DoD directives.
  • Provide support to senior leadership in a Joint Operations Center environment.
  • Participate in on‑call support and after‑hours incident response as needed.
Qualifications:
  • 6+ years of Tier 3 System or Network Administrator experience, with emphasis on VDI environments.
  • Experience with Windows 11, Windows Server 2016/2019, Active Directory, and enterprise IT systems.
  • Hands‑on experience with VMware, SCCM, SANs, and enterprise security tools (e.g., McAfee).
  • Strong experience applying and documenting DISA STIGs.
  • Familiarity with VOIP systems and collaboration platforms such as Microsoft Teams.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in high‑tempo environments.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Certifications & Requirements:
  • Active DoD 8570 certification (IAT Level II – Security+ CE or equivalent).
  • Ability to obtain IMO Level 4 access, demonstrating advanced cybersecurity and system administration expertise.
Clearance Requirement:
  • Active Top Secret clearance required with ability to obtain TS/SCI.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Cisco certifications (CCNA, CCNP).
  • 6-8 years of network engineering or cybersecurity experience.
  • Experience with Army tactical communications systems and Mission Partner Environment (MPE).
  • Experience supporting USARPAC Area of Responsibility (AOR).
  • Experience briefing or supporting senior leadership.

Compensation:

  • Salary:$120,000 - $140,000 (based on experience and education)
