REPORTS TO: Director of Food Safety

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Gold Star Foods is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sanitation Associate to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of our production facilities, equipment, and grounds. This role is crucial in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for food production in compliance with health regulations and company standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Facility Cleaning:
  • Clean and sanitize production equipment, surfaces, and utensils according to the company's sanitation procedures.
  • Ensure that all cleaning and sanitation schedules are adhered to and documented accurately.
  • Perform routine cleaning of floors, walls, and ceilings in production areas.
  • Dispose of waste and recycling materials properly.
  • Equipment Maintenance:
  • Disassemble and reassemble equipment for cleaning purposes as needed.
  • Inspect andmaintainsanitation tools and equipment, reporting any defects or maintenance needs.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
  • Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines as per OSHA, FDA, and company standards.
  • Participate in sanitation inspections and audits, providing support to the quality assurance team.
  • Inventory Management:
  • Monitor and replenish sanitation supplies and chemicals.
  • Ensure proper labeling and storage of cleaning chemicals.
  • Health & Safety:
  • Adhere to company policiesregardinghealth and safety practices.
  • Report any health and safety concerns to the supervisorimmediately.
  • Team Collaboration:
  • Work closely with other team members tomaintaina clean and safe working environment.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and managementregardingany sanitation issues or improvements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Education & Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previousexperience in sanitation, janitorial, or food production environment preferred.
  • Skills & Competencies:
  • Knowledge of sanitation and cleaning procedures, preferably in a food production setting.
  • Ability tooperatecleaning equipment and use cleaning chemicals safely.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Good communicationand teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Sit-down forklift experience desirable.
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Ability tolift upto 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in cold environments (refrigerated areas).
SCHEDULES:
  • Monday- Friday 3pm- Finished
COMPENSATION: Starting at - $18.50
