Job description

Location: Taylor, Texas

Job Title: Safety Manager

Job Description: Opportunity to work with a Korean based Construction Company on various projects at Samsung Austin Semi-conductor.

1. Oversee OSHA safety compliance, manage OSHA inspections, and respond to legal risks

2. Ensure compliance with OSHA and arrange for OSHA mandated test and evaluations of the workplace when necessary.

3. Report safety performance management and analysis results to executives and continuously improve the safety management system.

4. Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders

5. Conduct risk assessments, review preventive plans, and implement corrective actions

6. Provide safety standards to subcontractors and organize regular safety committee meetings

7. Lead accident investigations, establish corrective/preventive actions (CAPA), and conduct on-site training

8. Inspect the worksite to ensure that it is a hazard-free environment.

9. Review and approve sub-contractor’s high risk work request.

10. Review and verify that all tools and equipment are adequate and safe for use.

11. Promote safety practices and enforce safety guidelines.

12. Provide and conduct safety trainings if necessary.

13. Manage permits for scaffolds, cranes, confined spaces, hot works, aerial lifts, energized electrical works, and excavations.

14. Perform pre-construction walk-through to perform site risk analysis with existing facilities and systems.

15. Ensure compliance with Samsung safety guidelines.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree or higher in Safety Management, Industrial Hygiene, or Construction Management

- Minimum 10 to 15+ years of overall safety management experience on construction sites (must include experience overseeing mega/large-scale projects)

- Possession of certifications equivalent to CSP (Certified Safety Professional) and CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician)

- Completion of relevant training such as OSHA 30-Hour or OSHA 500 Degree in Safety Management, Construction Management, or related study is preferred

- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams

- Excellent interpersonal, visual, written and verbal communication skills.

- Working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Power Point, Word)

- Work experience in field experience and inspection.

- Be able to work early morning hours or on weekends if necessary.

- Demonstrated ability to perform individually and as a member of project teams.

Work Hours: 6:30am – 4:00pm (Mon – Fri)
