Precise Systems seeks an Analytical Chemist with 1-3 years of analytical chemistry experience, with a specific focus on gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC-MS), and liquid chromatography mass spectrometry (LC-MS). This position heavily emphasizes sample preparation for the multi-omic (proteomics, metabolomics, lipidomics, and genomics) analysis of chemical, biological, and explosive samples, including toxins. The role requires dedicated problem-solving, keen attention to detail, and a strong foundation in general laboratory skills. The successful applicant will possess a demonstrated aptitude for working both independently and in collaboration with other team members, as this position spans multiple disciplines to include biologists, bioinformaticians, chemical engineers, and material scientists. Duties: * Execute complex sample preparation protocols for the multi-omic analysis of chemical, biological, and explosive samples, as well as toxins. * Perform chemical analysis utilizing mass spectrometry and related analytical techniques to characterize complex samples. * Assume responsibility for the routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment, and coordinate complex repairs with outside service vendors. * Utilize robust general laboratory skills to ensure a safe, organized, and highly functional laboratory environment. * Keep detailed records of laboratory operations and compile data into regular technical reports. Required Education: * B.S. or M.S. in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, or a closely related field in the Life Sciences. Required Experience: * 3 years of practical laboratory experience. * Hands-on experience utilizing mass spectrometry, gas chromatography, and liquid chromatography. * Proven experience in sample preparation techniques, particularly for complex matrices. * Strong general laboratory skills and direct experience with laboratory equipment maintenance. * Meticulous documentation in laboratory notebooks, authorship of technical reports, and drafting of standard operating procedures (SOPs). * Ability to function effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team. * Outstanding verbal and written communication skills for audiences with varying technical backgrounds. * Effective time management skills; self-starter; attention to detail. * Ability to independently design and execute experiments; strong critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
