This Position is a Part-Time Instructional Position and receives $46 - $48 an hour.
Position Summary
Primary Purpose
The EMS Adjunct Instructor provides high-quality instruction in Emergency Medical Services (EMS) courses within the Allied Health Department. This position supports student learning and program objectives through effective teaching, preparation of instructional materials, assessment of student performance, and adherence to College instructional and accreditation standards.

SJR State is a public college located in beautiful northeast Florida along the shores of the St. Johns River. With three campuses in Clay, Putnam, and St. Johns counties, SJR State serves nearly 10,000 students each year from among a population base of 600,000 in one of the fastest-growing areas of the country. Duties and Responsibilities
Instruction & Student Engagement
โ€ข Teach assigned Emergency Medical Services courses in accordance with departmental and College standards.
โ€ข Prepare syllabi, instructional materials, and course assessments.
โ€ข Facilitate student learning through classroom, laboratory, and/or clinical instruction as assigned.
โ€ข Evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback.
โ€ข Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and course documentation.
Program & Institutional Support
โ€ข Support program goals, accreditation standards, and instructional quality initiatives.
โ€ข Participate in required meetings, training sessions, and professional development as appropriate.
โ€ข Maintain professional licensure and certifications required for EMS instruction.
โ€ข Follow College policies and procedures related to instruction and student conduct.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
โ€ข Associate degree in a related field from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the United States Department of Education; bachelor's degree preferred.
โ€ข Licensed Florida Paramedic or licensed Registered Nurse in good standing.
โ€ข Minimum of three years of field experience with an Advanced Life Support (ALS) provider.
โ€ข Completion of Level A coursework listed in the National Guidelines for Educating EMS Instructors.
โ€ข Applicant must pass verification of employment/reference screening and a background check.
Applicants should upload the following documents prior to submitting their application: (1) transcripts from all colleges attended; (2) a curriculum vitae that includes the institutions where you have worked and the courses you have taught; (3) a syllabus from a relevant course recently taught; (4) a sample exam from a relevant course recently taught; (5) two letters of recommendation; and (6) a letter to the search committee describing your teaching experience.
