Job Description:
Key Required Skills
•    The Software Asset Management (SAM) Lead supports customers software asset lifecycle program, ensuring governance, regulatory compliance, audit readiness, and cost optimization. The role partners with Infrastructure, Security, Procurement, Finance, and Risk Management to protect enterprise assets and reduce operational and compliance risk.
•    Demonstrated experience managing the full SAM lifecycle: procurement, deployment, maintenance, utilization, and retirement
•    Hands-on experience with ServiceNow Software Asset Management (SAM Pro)
•    Ability to develop and maintain SAM-related policies, procedures, and controls
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills
 
Position Description 
•    Manage the end-to-end Software Asset Management lifecycle across the enterprise
•    Lead and provide guidance to a team of technical professionals
•    Maintain accurate software inventory, reconciliation, and documentation for regulatory and financial compliance
•    Identify and implement automation and tooling improvements to enhance governance and reporting
•    Lead cross-functional initiatives to mature SAM processes
•    Track software entitlements, monitor license usage, and conduct internal compliance audits
•    Perform detailed data analysis in ServiceNow for usage, compliance, and optimization
•    Compile financial, contractual, and inventory data to support IT asset lifecycle management
•    Recommend and enforce SAM policies and procedures to reduce audit and compliance risk
•    Respond to audit requests; investigate and resolve licensing discrepancies
•    Support onboarding of new software titles into SAM Pro, including requirements gathering and documentation
•    Maintain data on software usage, versions, contract dates, and licenses for accurate tracking
•    Support software consolidation, cost optimization, and compliance strategies
•    Analyze business processes, data flows, and operational reporting
 
Basic Qualifications 
•    7+ years of enterprise Software Asset Management experience
•    5+ years with ServiceNow SAM Pro and HAM Pro
•    Knowledge of enterprise software licensing, contracts, and asset lifecycle processes
•    Familiarity with data normalization, catalog items, workspaces, and compliance dashboards
•    Strong analytical and data management skills
 
Required Skills 
•    Must obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
•    Must work on-site in Woodlawn, MD 5 days per week
•    Master’s + 5 years, Bachelor’s + 7 years, or 13 years of experience in lieu of degree
•    Strong communication and problem-solving skills
•    Proficiency in Excel and reporting tools
