Principal Accountabilities:

  • Harvesting salt and supporting processing operations
  • Performing pre-operational and safety inspections on assigned equipment
  • Greasing, lubricating, fueling, and cleaning equipment
  • Reporting equipment damage, malfunctions, or repair needs
  • Assisting the Wash Plant Operator in maintaining efficient salt processing operations
  • Washing down salt buildup and clearing accumulations from conveyors and rollers
  • Collecting washed and unwashed salt samples every two hours under normal operating conditions
  • Moving gantry systems to maintain salt stockpiles
  • Moving and managing water lines  
  • Troubleshooting minor water pressure and valve operation issues
  • Performing housekeeping and manual labor tasks as needed - Understanding and adhering to all safety policies and procedures
  • Understanding and adhering to all policies and procedures
  • Maintaining a safe and clean work environment
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Ability to understand and communicate in English (written and verbal)
  • Ability to perform physical job duties including: bending, kneeling, crawling, climbing, twisting, lifting up to 50 pounds, working in awkward positions; with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments that may include: heat, cold, dust, noise and other environmental conditions; while wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Ability to operate machinery and industrial equipment with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to work at elevations of 4 feet or higher
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and various shifts with advance notice 


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous heavy equipment operating experience
  • Experience operating loaders, haul trucks, dump trucks, tractors, or forklifts
  • Experience working in industrial, mining, agricultural, construction, or manufacturing environments
  • Strong commitment to safety and safe work practices
