Position Summary:
Local to AZ only. Hybrid. First 2-3 days on site then once a month. 
We are seeking a Salesforce QA Automation Engineer to support DES IT modernization projects. In this role, you will lead quality assurance and test automation efforts to modernize legacy state infrastructure into scalable, cloud-based Salesforce solutions (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and custom Public Sector Solutions).
You will build scalable test automation frameworks, validate complex integrations across legacy state systems, and ensure high reliability, security, and compliance with state and federal standards.
1. Automation Framework & Test Execution
Design & Maintain Automation Frameworks: Build, scale, and maintain robust, reusable test automation frameworks tailored for Salesforce (e.g., using Selenium, Provar, Playwright, Cypress, or Salesforce Test Automation Tools like UTAM).
Automate End-to-End Workflows: Create automated test scripts covering complex business processes, custom Apex logic, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Visualforce, and screen flows.
API & Integration Testing: Develop automated tests for REST/SOAP APIs to validate integrations between Salesforce and external systems (ERP, Marketing Automation, Payment Gateways, etc.).
CI/CD Pipeline Integration: Integrate automated test suites into DevOps and CI/CD pipelines (Copado, AutoRABIT, Salesforce DevOps Center, GitHub Actions, Jenkins) for regression and continuous testing.
2. Quality Assurance & Strategy
Test Planning & Strategy: Collaborate with Product Owners, Salesforce Architects, and Business Analysts to define test strategies, test plans, and acceptance criteria.
Regression & Release Testing: Own the automated regression testing suite and execute sanity/smoke tests before and after major Salesforce releases or deployment sprints.
Defect Management: Identify, log, track, and retest bugs using tools like Jira or Azure DevOps. Work closely with developers to isolate issues and accelerate root-cause analysis.
Data Management for Testing: Manage test environments (sandboxes), create test data generation strategies, and ensure proper sandbox masking and data refreshes.
3. Salesforce-Specific Quality Control
Security & Permissions Testing: Validate Salesforce Security Models (Profiles, Roles, Permission Sets, Field-Level Security, and Sharing Rules) through automated or manual verification.
Salesforce Release Upgrades: Assess, test, and prepare automated test suites for seasonal Salesforce releases (Winter, Spring, Summer) to detect breaking changes early.
Experience: 3–5+ years in QA Automation, with at least 2–3 years focused specifically on the Salesforce platform.
Technical Stack:
Languages: Java, JavaScript, Python, or C#.
Automation Tools: Provar, Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, UTAM (User Interface Test Automation Model), or Cucumber/BDD frameworks.
