Job Summary The Salesforce Engineering Manager is responsible for the design and implementation of applications and enhancements that support Marriott Vacations Worldwide (MVW). Collaborates with MVW’s Global Technology (GT) functional teams to design, promote, and deliver innovative solutions using various Salesforce technologies. Collaborates with vendors and managed service provider (MSP) partners for projects and processes. Provides level 3 incident and service request support. Guides level 1 and level 2 associates and MSP representatives. Candidate Profile Education Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related discipline or equivalent work experience. Certifications Preferred Salesforce Admin and Platform Dev I/II Certifications preferred. Additional Certifications such as Salesforce Service Coud Consultant, Sales Cloud Consultant, Experience Cloud Consultant, AI Associate/Specialist, CPQ Specialist, Advanced Admin, Platform App Builder, or Field Service Lightning Consultant Certifications are a plus. Experience 7-9 years of design and delivery of Salesforce solutions within business organizations across multiple product lines and multiple countries and jurisdictions. Progressive experience with designing, delivering, and extending enterprise scale Salesforce applications. Significant experience operating in a globally sourced operating model leveraging suppliers for Application Development services. Experiencing using applications such as Atlassian Jira. Skills/Attributes Analytical and Strategic Thinking Analytical Skills: Proactively identify and address potential risks or issues related to Salesforce applications and propose appropriate solutions. Technical Extensive knowledge and experience with Salesforce CRM Core is required. Experience with Experience Cloud, Revenue Cloud, Field Service, and/or CDP is ideal. Experience with Heroku Connect, Chargent Payments, and/or OwnBackup is a plus. Familiar with the full software development lifecycle. Experience designing and writing code using Lightning, Apex, Visual Force, SOQL/SOSL, and Javascript. Experience with Salesforce Integration design and development, including Events, SOAP / REST / Bulk APIs, Canvasing, Authentication, etc. Proficiency in debugging and troubleshooting Salesforce applications to identify and resolve issues effectively. Experience working with and utilizing DevOps practices. Copado Enterprise experience is ideal. Experience with SFDX is desirable. Experience with Salesforce Managed Packages. Experience with Salesforce administration. Experience using Splunk is a plus. Understanding of Salesforce custom application design including knowledge of limits, throttling, security, certificates, APIs, auth, etc., on the Salesforce platform. Perform unit testing and debugging to ensure the quality and reliability of developed applications. Troubleshooting and Support: Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve issues related to Salesforce applications. Project Management Skills Requirement Analysis: Skills in gathering and analyzing business requirements to tailor Salesforce solutions to meet organizational needs. Planning and Execution: Ability to plan, execute, and deliver Salesforce solutions, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget while meeting technical and quality requirements. Interpersonal Skills Communication: Proven verbal and written communication skills to convey technical concepts etc. with non-technical stakeholders in easy-to-understand ways. Customer Focus: Commitment to a strong customer service orientation to understand and address client needs effectively. Collaboration: Proven ability to collaborate within the Global Technology organization at all levels, vendors, and Managed Service providers to architect solutions and oversee successful project implementations. Expected Contributions Partners with Business Analysts and Architects to understand the desired new features or business capabilities needed. Translates business requirements and architectural direction documents into technical solution documents and diagrams that contribute to an overall bid package. Technical solution documents and diagrams serve as the blueprint of what will be developed (coded) by the supplier. Works with others to review/develop supplier bids and proposed work orders. Reviews technical designs from the supplier or develops solution engineering documents as needed. Provides oversight and approval of supplier developed designs and test plans. Works closely with Project Delivery roles to establish overall project management measures and delivery requirements. Reviews supplier work product to ensure alignment to approved design specifications and that delivered solution aligns to MVW policy and MVW Application Development best practices. As needed, provides advanced support (level 3) during production incidents to reduce the outage and shares knowledge with Supplier to allow Supplier to resolve future issues independently. Contributes to MVW Best Practices Library by creating or enhancing standards. Contributes to team, department and/or business results by performing complex quantitative and qualitative analysis for business processes and/or projects. Often manages small projects, business processes or parts of larger ones. Responds to, solves, and makes decisions on more complex/non-routine business requests with limited to moderate risk. Assists more senior associates in achieving business results by: identifying opportunities to enhance the effectiveness of business processes. participating in setting department operating plans. achieving results against budget within scope of responsibility. Demonstrates an awareness of personal strengths and areas for improvement and acts independently to improve and increase skills and knowledge. Performs other duties as appropriate.
