Their work helps organizations automate processes, enhance customer relationship management, and leverage the full capabilities of Salesforce.

What does a Salesforce developer do?

As a Salesforce developer, your duties are to work as part of a development team to code software or application solutions on the Salesforce platform or another piece of Salesforce cloud technology. You typically develop these projects on behalf of other businesses, tailoring development to their needs. These solutions may include new storage architecture, effective strategies to distribute data across a business enterprise network, or innovative methods to create more efficient CRM workflow. Your responsibilities also require you to work closely with QA workers and end users to test solutions and ensure that they meet specifications.

Job description

OverviewThe Opportunity

ConstructConnect is seeking a Salesforce Technical Lead to serve as the primary technical authority for our enterprise Salesforce platform. In this role, you will architect, build, and scale a high-performing Salesforce core that underpins our revenue operations and long-term platform strategy.

You will set the technical direction for our Salesforce org, working closely alongside Salesforce platform developers and GTM systems administrators to deliver scalable, pro-code and declarative solutions. In this role, you are the technical anchor, guiding engineering decisions, establishing standards, and elevating the team's capabilities, while staying hands-on across the Salesforce core platform, quote-to-cash lifecycle, data integrity, and AI-assisted development practices.

ResponsibilitiesWhat You'll Be Doing

Salesforce Platform Architecture & Engineering

  • Lead System Design: Define the foundational architecture, metadata strategy, object modeling, and enterprise design patterns for the core Salesforce platform (Sales, Service).
  • Core Platform Health: Establish engineering guardrails to manage governor limits, enforce code quality, and proactively refactor legacy technical debt.
  • Hands-On Development & AI Engineering: Write and maintain high-quality Apex, LWC, and advanced declarative automations (Flows), leveraging AI tools like Claude Code and Glean to accelerate development and automate workflows.
  • Release Governance: Own the CI/CD pipeline and deployment strategies using Git-based workflows, Salesforce DX, scratch orgs, and unlocked packages.

GTM Ecosystem & Integration Strategy

  • Quote-to-Cash & CPQ Architecture: Serve as the technical authority for product catalog synchronization, subscription management, and contract renewals, regardless of the underlying billing or CPQ engine.
  • Integration Patterns: Design and support secure, event-driven API integrations connecting Salesforce to the broader GTM and Finance tech stack (Marketing Automation, Customer Success, Billing, and Data Warehouses).
  • Data Governance: Maintain strict data quality and architectural standards across Salesforce to support reliable enterprise reporting and downstream analytics.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Stakeholder Alignment: Partner closely with Product Owners early in the discovery phase to engineer automated, scalable solutions and eliminate manual process friction.
  • Engineering Mentorship: Coach, upskill, and guide Salesforce developers and GTM administrators, effectively bridging pro-code and declarative capabilities.
  • Documentation & Standards: Maintain robust architecture diagrams, data contracts, and runbooks to eliminate tribal knowledge and foster a culture of technical excellence.
  • This job description in no way implies that the duties listed here are the only ones that team members can be required to perform.
QualificationsWhat You Bring to the Team

Experience & Education

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience with Salesforce platforms, with at least 2+ years acting as a Technical Lead or Senior Architect.
  • Proven track record supporting B2B SaaS Go-To-Market models - specifically lead-to-revenue, quote-to-cash, and renewal/expansion motions.
  • Hands-on experience with a CPQ platform integrated with Salesforce (Zuora CPQ or equivalent).
  • Experience with Salesforce managed package development, ISVForce, or AppExchange products is a strong plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS, or a related technical field - or equivalent practical experience.

Technical Skills

  • Development: Apex (including Apex Enterprise Patterns), Lightning Web Components (LWC), JavaScript, SOQL/SOSL.
  • Declarative: Advanced Salesforce Flows, Validation Rules, Approval Processes, Platform Events.
  • Integrations: REST/Bulk/Streaming APIs, event-driven architecture, OData/External Objects; experience connecting Salesforce to billing, marketing automation, and customer success platforms; managed package and multi-org integration experience a plus.
  • DevOps: Git-based workflows (GitLab), Salesforce DX, scratch orgs, unlocked packages; CI/CD pipeline design and operation.
  • AI & Automation: Experience embedding AI agents (e.g., Glean, Claude Code) into Salesforce workflows and using AI tools to accelerate discovery, development, and testing.

Preferred Certifications

  • Salesforce Certified Application Architect or System Architect
  • Salesforce Certified Platform Developer II (PDII)
  • Salesforce Certified Administrator
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • The physical activities of this position include frequent sitting, telephone communication, and working on a computer for extended periods. Visual acuity is required to perform activities close to the eyes.
  • Team members are expected to maintain a dedicated and ergonomically appropriate workspace.
  • Team members who live within commuting distance of one of our office locations (Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky or Atlanta, Georgia) are expected to work in a hybrid capacity, with regular in-office presence as determined by the team or department.
  • All team members must reside and perform their work within the United States.
