Role Overview:
As a Senior Engineer, Institutional Life Technology, you will be a hands-on engineer supporting and enhancing Institutional Life's technology ecosystem across AWS data infrastructure, Salesforce CRM, IL Quick, AI-enabled solutions, integration services, and production operations. You will apply advanced engineering expertise to solve complex technical problems, recommend effective solutions, and collaborate across teams to deliver secure, reliable, and governed technology capabilities in a regulated financial-services environment.
What You'll Do:
โ€ข Design, build, enhance, and support AWS data solutions using services such as Glue/PySpark, Redshift, Lambda, Step Functions, EventBridge, DBT, and Terraform, including data reconciliation, testing, deployment, and performance optimization.
โ€ข Develop and support Salesforce solutions using Apex, Flow Builder, Change Data Capture, and SFDX, and collaborate on integrations between Salesforce, AWS, and downstream data platforms.
โ€ข Build and enhance AI-enabled and RAG solutions using Amazon Bedrock and IL Quick, applying established patterns for prompt engineering, knowledge retrieval, agent workflows, testing, guardrails, and human review.
โ€ข Develop IL Quick applications, workflows, automations, agents, and analytics that address business requirements while applying appropriate security, data access, provenance, and compliance controls.
โ€ข Troubleshoot complex production issues, improve monitoring and runbooks, participate in incident response, and collaborate with architects, engineers, and business partners to recommend improvements to reliability and engineering practices.
What You'll Bring:
You bring advanced hands-on engineering expertise and the ability to work independently across cloud, data, integration, and AI-enabled technologies. You use sophisticated analytical thinking to diagnose complex issues, evaluate alternatives, and recommend practical solutions. You communicate technical concepts effectively, collaborate across related disciplines, and understand how security, reliability, data governance, and regulatory requirements influence technology design and delivery.
Required Skills:
โ€ข Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience.
โ€ข 6+ years of relevant professional experience in software engineering, data engineering, cloud engineering, or related technology disciplines.
  • 1+ year of hands-on experience building or supporting AI/LLM solutions (production or advanced prototyping)

โ€ข Hands-on AWS engineering experience with services such as S3, Glue/PySpark, Redshift, Lambda, Step Functions, EventBridge, CloudWatch, and Secrets Manager, along with SQL, DBT, Terraform, CI/CD, and automated testing.
โ€ข Salesforce development or integration experience with technologies such as Apex, Flow Builder, Change Data Capture, SFDX, and enterprise data integration patterns.
โ€ข Practical AI experience with Amazon Bedrock including RAG implementation, prompt engineering, and tool/function calling; familiarity with agentic AI concepts and multi-step orchestration
โ€ข Strong Python and SQL skills with experience developing data pipelines, APIs, integrations, automation, or production applications.
โ€ข Experience troubleshooting production systems and collaborating across technical and business teams to resolve complex issues and improve processes.
Preferred Skills:
โ€ข Experience with IL Quick/QuickSight, agentic AI frameworks, MCP, vector databases, streaming technologies, or LLM evaluation tooling.
โ€ข AWS and/or Salesforce certifications, such as AWS Solutions Architect or Salesforce Platform Developer II.

Salary Range: $111,500 - $160,000

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
