Corrigan Krause is assisting their client in the search for a permanent Accounting Manager located in North Royalton, Ohio. The ideal candidate brings a strong accounting foundation, manufacturing industry experience, and a passion for process improvement and technology. This position is both hands-on and strategic, supporting day-to-day accounting while helping drive long-term operations.


Responsibilities

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Accounting & Close

  • Oversee all general ledger activity, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules in accordance with GAAP.

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare and review financial statements, key performance indicators (KPIs), and management reporting packages.
  • Perform variance, trend, and ad hoc financial analysis to support decision-making and improve financial performance.

Technology

  • Strong affinity for systems, software applications, and process improvement, with the ability to quickly learn, adopt, and optimize new technologies
  • Strong working knowledge with using Microsoft Suite, especially Excel and Outlook
  • Proactive technology user who can become a systems “power user” and internal resource/trainer over time
  • Experience with Salesforce.com (SFDC) and Accounting Seed preferred

Manufacturing & Operational Finance

  • Partner with operations to ensure accurate cost accounting, including inventory, work-in-process (WIP), and job costing.
  • Analyze production costs, labor efficiency, and overhead absorption to improve gross margins and operational performance.
  • Monitor and evaluate margin performance by product line, project, and customer.

Internal Controls & Compliance

  • Maintain and enhance internal controls to ensure financial accuracy, asset protection, and audit readiness.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies, tax requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.

Tax & External Coordination

  • Oversee tax compliance (income, sales/use, and other filings) in coordination with external advisors.
  • Manage relationships with external CPA firms, including financial statement reviews/audits and timely resolution of findings.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff; establish accountability, cross-training, and team scalability.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of GAAP.
  • Demonstrated experience with accounting systems and process improvement; ERP implementation or
  • Experience working with web-based accounting platforms such as Accounting Seed and Salesforce or similar systems
  • Ability to take and pass a background check
