Build a Career in Sales with a Trusted Local Company

Outside Sales Representative - Smith and Company Painting, Inc.
McMinnville, Oregon

Smith and Company Painting is looking for a motivated individual who enjoys meeting new people, building relationships, and helping customers improve their homes and properties. As an Outside Sales Representative, you'll play an important role in connecting homeowners and property owners with professional painting and floor coating solutions.

This is a great opportunity for someone who likes working independently while being part of a supportive team. If you enjoy setting goals, managing your own schedule, and earning income based on your performance, this position offers strong long-term potential.

Our sales representatives typically earn $60,000 to $100,000+ per year, combining a base salary with commissions.

Why Join Smith and Company Painting?

  • Strong earning potential - $60,000-$100,000+ annually
  • Vehicle allowance (or company car) and company gas card
  • Company cell phone provided
  • Paid time off - 1 week PTO
  • 5 paid holidays after your first year
  • Training, mentorship, and ongoing support
  • Opportunity to grow with a well-established family-owned business

What Your Role Will Look Like

In this position, you'll meet with homeowners and property owners to help them plan and move forward with painting and coating projects. After training, you'll be responsible for guiding customers through the process from the first conversation to the start of their project.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Meeting with prospective clients to discuss painting and floor coating projects
  • Prospecting for new projects
  • Preparing professional estimates for interior and exterior painting services
  • Explaining the benefits of our products and services
  • Building strong relationships through clear and honest communication
  • Following up with leads and maintaining a steady pipeline of opportunities
  • Coordinating project details with our production team
  • Ensuring a smooth handoff once projects are scheduled
  • Maintaining customer relationships even after the project is completed
  • Tracking activity and opportunities in our CRM system

In many cases, you'll be the first and most important point of contact for our customers, helping them feel confident about their investment.

About Our Company

Smith and Company Painting has proudly served the region since 1960. Over the decades, we've built our reputation on high-quality craftsmanship, dependable service, and strong accountability.

Our team specializes in:

  • Interior and exterior residential painting
  • Commercial painting projects
  • Specialty coatings
  • Concrete floor resurfacing and epoxy systems

While we take great pride in the work we do, we're equally proud of the team culture we've built. We believe a respectful, supportive environment helps everyone perform at their best.

This Position May Be a Great Fit If You Are:
  • Professional and trustworthy in your interactions with customers
  • Goal-oriented and motivated to succeed
  • Friendly and outgoing, with a genuine interest in helping others
  • Customer-focused, providing honest and dependable service
  • A strong communicator who can clearly explain options and solutions

Experience in painting, coatings, or construction can be helpful, but it is not required. We're happy to train someone who has the right attitude and work ethic.
