Job Summary:
Sysco has immediate job openings for CDL A Delivery Truck Driver Trainees without a CDL to train to become dependable Delivery Partners. You will train for your Class-A CDL, including how to safely operate a tractor-trailer, to unload/deliver various products to an assigned route schedule, and build relationships with each customer using a positive, friendly attitude and become familiar with their operations to meet needs and expectations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ability to unload product from trailer, by hand or using a hand cart, and place in designated customer storage areas
  • Transporting product down ramps, stairs, or docks, in all weather conditions
  • Constantly bending and twisting while loading and unloading product and retrieving items from the trailer
  • Ability to verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures. Contact management for authorization when there are discrepancies on invoice and communicate all errors/returns
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip responsibilities following the Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and Sysco policies
  • Pickup, load and unload damaged goods and customer returns and complete necessary paperwork
  • Complete DOT logs (electronic or manual as required), company vehicle maintenance reports, and reconcile with appropriate company representative as required
  • Ability to deliver product within assigned route schedule and time windows. Immediately inform the management team of any deviations

Qualifications:
  • Must be 21+ years of age
  • Valid driver's license with a driving record that meets company insurability standards.
  • Must submit to and pass pre-employment testing
  • Must obtain Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within ninety (90) days of start date to remain actively employed
  • Must have one year Distribution/Warehouse experience or other military experience in lieu of

*CDL permit and DOT medical certification may be obtained during SkillBridge program for eligible participants

Physical Demands:
Frequently lift, push, or move product that weighs up to 100 pounds. Frequently reaching up to 72" to stack and unstack pallets
Working Conditions:
Must have schedule flexibility ~ i.e. overtime hours, working weekends and holidays, and the ability to start and end at a variety of times are all required to successfully meet customer needs.
