The Role: General Sales Manager

As our General Sales Manager (GSM), you’ll lead the Butte dealership’s sales operations. You’ll oversee new and pre-owned sales, guide the Finance & Insurance (F&I) team, and ensure customers receive an exceptional, seamless buying experience.

Today’s customers arrive informed and ready to explore. Your mission? Help them find the perfect RV, boat, watercraft, or snowmobile through a thoughtful, needs-based sales process. Your expertise, leadership, and ability to inspire your team will set Bretz apart from the competition.

What You’ll Do

1. Lead Sales Operations

  • Build a culture of accountability and excellence in the sales department.
  • Drive results to meet dealership goals for gross profit, unit volume, and finance penetration.

2. Oversee Inventory & Financials

  • Manage inventory levels, pricing, reconditioning, and lot/showroom presentation.
  • Review deals, resolve “dead deals,” and support deal structuring.
  • Oversee expense management and ensure pay plans, spiffs, and commissions align with company guidelines.

3. Develop and Mentor Teams

  • Coach and grow Sales and F&I teams.
  • Collaborate with leadership to maintain a pipeline of talent for future leadership roles.

4. Deliver Customer Excellence

  • Resolve high-level customer concerns and complex trade or deal issues.
  • Ensure consistent follow-up and a personalized customer experience.

5. Drive Marketing & Events

  • Coordinate promotions and ensure pricing and specials are effectively communicated.
  • Plan and execute off-site shows and on-site events with proper staffing and logistics.

6. Cross-Department Collaboration

  • Work closely with Operations, F&I, Parts, and Service teams to deliver seamless customer experiences.
Who You’ll Work With
  • Operations Manager – Ensure unified operations and customer satisfaction.
  • Business/F&I Manager – Secure financing and maximize profitability.
  • Salespeople – Mentor and develop the sales team.
  • Receptionists, Lot Crew, Forklift Drivers – Ensure smooth day-to-day dealership operations and customer engagement.
