Job Description Sales Engineer Location: Grand Rapids, MI Position Summary The Sales Engineer is responsible for driving new business growth and supporting existing customer relationships within a highly technical plastic injection molding environment. This role combines engineering knowledge with a strong sales mindset to identify opportunities, develop solutions, and support revenue growth across automotive and other industrial markets. This individual will serve as a key technical liaison between customers and internal engineering teams while actively pursuing new business opportunities, managing accounts, and representing the company in the field.

Key Responsibilities Identify and develop new customer opportunities within assigned territory or vertical markets Travel extensively to visit prospective and existing customers Build and maintain long-term customer relationships Provide technical sales support and product education Interpret customer requirements and translate them into technical solutions Prepare and calculate customer quotations Negotiate and close sales agreements Coordinate sales projects across internal engineering and production teams Act as liaison between customers and internal technical teams Maintain accurate customer records and CRM documentation Stay current on industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies Represent the company at trade shows and industry events as needed Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field required Strong background in plastic injection molding and tooling required Prior experience in technical sales or engineering-based customer-facing role Existing industry relationships or book of business strongly preferred Strong hunter mentality with proven ability to develop new business Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and specifications Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Ability to travel 30-50% of time (local + overnight and within Midwest) Disclaimer: By submitting your application for this position, you are agreeing to receive communication from Cannon Jeffries Search Group, which may include calls, texts, and emails.
