Business Development Manager - Manufacturing - Base Salary to 150k/year - Saint Louis, MO

  • Our client is a market-leading manufacturer of custom HVAC equipment serving large commercial and industrial construction projects throughout North America. They are seeking a Business Development Manager based in the St. Louis area to develop new business, expand existing accounts, and drive sales of highly engineered custom HVAC systems through distributors, consulting engineers, mechanical contractors, and end users.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the sales team to achieve opportunity and booking goals within assigned territories.
  • Develop new business opportunities and grow existing relationships with HVAC distributors, consulting engineers, mechanical contractors, design-build firms, end users, and manufacturer representatives.
  • Sell custom HVAC equipment and engineered-to-order air handling solutions for large commercial construction projects.
  • Read and interpret technical specifications, bid documents, construction drawings, and blueprints to develop accurate project estimates and bid pricing.
  • Apply knowledge of HVAC equipment, air handling units, engineered systems, manufacturer recommendations, and industry standards during the quoting process.
  • Review project terms and conditions as they relate to pricing and project execution.
  • Conduct sales presentations, attend industry trade shows, perform market research, visit project sites, and identify new project opportunities.
  • Evaluate project requirements, prepare quotations, and close new equipment sales.
  • Travel throughout the assigned territory to support customers, develop new accounts, and close projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of sales experience within the HVAC design or HVAC manufacturing industry.
  • Experience selling custom HVAC equipment, applied HVAC systems, engineered-to-order equipment, or commercial HVAC products.
  • Experience calling on HVAC distributors, consulting engineers, mechanical contractors, design-build firms, and end users.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, technical specifications, and bid documents.
  • Knowledge of HVAC terminology and commercial HVAC equipment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Ability to travel 30-35% throughout the United States.

Compensation:

  • Base salary in the 125k - 150k/year range plus commissions
  • Full benefits including health, dental, life, vision, FSA, PTO
  • 401k with 3% match
  • All expenses paid
