At Lighthouse Central Florida, we empower individuals with visual impairments to live independently and confidently. We’re seeking a Teacher of the Visually Impaired who will provide expertise and collaborate on vision-specific program curricula and instruction for the Children's and Transition Program.  This role will participate in and support the Children's/Transition Program and the values and mission of Lighthouse Central Florida (LCF) as a rehabilitation team member, and will maintain the confidentiality of program participants in accordance with State and Federal regulations. This role may also support IEP-related contracts within the community, travel to schools, and provide educational supports to students.

What You’ll Do

  • Be a part of a multidisciplinary team delivering vision rehabilitation services
  • Impact the lives to youth who are blind or visually impaired
  • Provide direct client support and assessments to our various youth programs and school contracts; which includes some nights and weekends
  • Bring your knowledge and background to our program development

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in a related field
  • 2+ years’ experience working with individuals with visual impairments (or other disabilities)
  • Passion for mission-driven work and improving lives

Preferred Certifications: TVI or TVI/COMS
