Job description

Regional School Unit 24 is seeking an exceptional educational leader to serve as the next Principal of Sumner Memorial High School, part of the Charles M. Sumner Learning Campus.

This is a unique opportunity to lead a high school in a beautiful, state-of-the-art facility that opened in 2022. Serving 217 students from nine communities in Downeast Maine, RSU 24 offers an outstanding quality of life, from the rugged coast and pristine ponds and streams to forests, mountains, and the beauty of Acadia National Park within our district.

Sumner Memorial High School has innovative programming including PBIS silver distinction status, a nationally competitive speech and debate team, a maker space, and newly designed interdisciplinary alternative education program as well as a wide range of offerings in the arts and athletics. In addition, Sumner houses the carpentry program for the Hancock County Technical Center.

The successful candidate will be a collaborative, hardworking, and student-centered leader who is eager to join an established leadership team. The ideal principal will:
