The Role:
Launch is seeking an experienced and driven Analytics Principal to join our dynamic and growing Data Analytics and Visualization discipline! Our ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing a team of skilled data analysts, delivering on strategic accounts, leading & assisting sales pursuits, ensuring the delivery of high-quality analytics solutions, providing technical and thought leadership, and engage collaboratively with stakeholders across various functions.
Responsibilities Include:
Project Leadership:
  • Oversee the execution of analytics projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project operating models, requirements, and objectives
  • Comprehensive understanding of designing project team analytics operating models (including best practice delivery accelerators)
Sales Support:
  • Assist with sales pursuits (including prospective client calls), writing proposals, and responding to RFPs
  • Build, and empower other to build, sales accelerators
  • Drive external brand awareness
Data Visualization & Dashboard Development:
  • Create interactive and insightful data visualizations and dashboards using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Sigma Computing, or similar platforms
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data visualization requirements and create user-friendly and actionable dashboards
  • Design high-fidelity wireframes following visual analytics best practices
  • Develop dashboards following visual analytics best practices
  • Leverage BI tools to create best practice/optimized data models
  • Conduct performance tuning and optimization of dashboards and BI data models
  • Identify opportunities to enhance data analytics and visualization capabilities
SQL Development & Data Preparation:
  • Design and optimize SQL queries to retrieve and manipulate data efficiently
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity by implementing robust data quality and validation checks
  • Comprehensive understanding of data structure/preparation/transformation best practices
Data Analysis:
  • Perform in-depth data analysis, leveraging modern/advanced analytical techniques to extract insights and solve complex business problems
  • Drive the development of data visualizations, dashboards, and KPI/metric definitions to support decision-making
  • Leverage modern cloud platforms for query/data source development
Quality Assurance & Testing:
  • Ensure data accuracy and the quality of analytical outputs
  • Implement best practices for data governance and data management
  • Develop comprehensive data and dashboard QA/testing processes
Analytics Architecture
  • Comprehensive understanding of BI/analytics architecture best practices
  • Comprehensive understanding of BI/analytics platform design best practices
Data Strategy:
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the company's data strategy
  • Identify opportunities for data-driven improvements in processes and operations
  • Strong understanding of conducting D&A strategy assessments
  • Strong understanding of designing and implementing analytics centers of excellence
Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including senior management and executive leadership, to understand their D&A needs and to provide actionable insights
  • Present findings and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and compelling manner
Skill Development:
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and skill development within the team
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging analytics tools and techniques
Required Qualifications:
  • Proven experience (8+ years) in visual analytics, with a track record of leading teams
  • Strong proficiency in data visualization & analytics tools and best practices (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, Sigma Computing, etc.)
  • Strong proficiency in data visualization & analytics architecture and best practices (e.g., Power BI Service, Tableau Server or Cloud, Sigma Computing, etc.)
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages (e.g. SQL, Python, etc.)
  • Strong proficiency in cloud data warehousing platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Azure, etc.)
  • Strong proficiency in query writing and programming languages (e.g. SQL, Python, etc.)
  • Strong proficiency in BI data modeling (e.g., data modeling within tools like Power BI)
  • Experience leading and supporting sales pursuits
  • Experience building delivery and sales accelerators
  • Familiarity with ELT processes and modern data warehousing concepts
  • Problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Experience with project management and agile principles

The anticipated wage range for this role is $170,000-$190,000.
