Cloud Engineer
Job Description
SailPoint, the industry leader in Identity Security, is seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer to be responsible for providing support to critical internal infrastructure and applications. This is a professional level position and requires strong execution and analytical abilities. This position is expected to interact with Datacenter operations, Network, SaaS products, Security, and various groups within Information Technology. Candidate must have strong cloud infrastructure, networking, communication, and analytical skills. This position may need to travel internationally on occasion to our other offices. Responsibilities and Tasks:
As a Cloud Engineer you are required to design and implement cloud solutions in a multi-cloud environment. You will be working closely with the other business units to ensure solutions are met or even exceeding business requirements. You will be expected to recommend, promote, and leverage IT standards to minimize complexity, adhere with compliance, and maximize security.
Specifics responsibilities include (but not limited to):
  • Plan, design, deploy, operate, and support all kinds of cloud-based infrastructure and solutions in Azure, AWS, and GCP
  • Use script language and tools to automate resources provisioning, operational activities, tasks, and changes in the environment (Terraform, PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ansible, Etc.)
  • Responsible for the ongoing maintenance, security, and availability of several applications based on business requirements.
  • Provide all the necessary assistance to the cloud servers (Win/Linux), including security configurations, patching, and troubleshooting.
  • Continuously improve operations through monitoring, performance metrics, undefined
  • Create all the necessary documentation for any changes in the environment or new technologies being introduced in the environment.
  • Communicate highly technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Work with our solution architects to implement new technologies or system/infrastructure changes to improve performance, high availability, scalability, reliability, and resiliency.
  • Ensure architectural consistency and provide technical direction through roadmap process, knowledge management, disaster recovery plan development, and testing.
  • Able to build sophisticated solutions using hybrid cloud computing, networking, and storage technologies.
  • Participate in incident and problem management.
  • Participate in operational support escalations and project executions.
  • Maintain OLA and SLA agreements with other Business Units.
  • Support ISO and SOC compliance.
  • Implement change requests and meet project deliverables within defined guidelines for assigned tasks.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • 5-8 years experienced Cloud Engineer in an enterprise environment.
  • Due to FedRamp / Federal requirements, candidate MUST be a U.S. Citizen
  • Strong technical knowledge of IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
  • Practical experience in operating and managing Cloud platforms.
  • At least 2 CSP professional certifications as Solutions Architect, Infrastructure Administrator and/or similar.
  • Two or more years scripting/automation experience using Terraform, Jenkins, Perl, Python, PowerShell, etc. to develop AWS, GCP, or Azure environments as code.
  • Three or more years of experience working as a Systems Administrator.
  • Good understanding of networking, firewalls, load balancers, and databases.
  • Good technical knowledge in the below technologies:
    • Linux OS
    • Windows Servers OS
    • Active Directory and Entra ID (previously known as Azure AD)
    • Certificates
    • DNS
  • Passion and accountability for which you will be responsible.
  • Strong analytic, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong decision-making, prioritization, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written, presentation and negotiation).
  • Strong ability to self-learn new technologies.

  • Ability to work under pressure and with project deadlines.

Education:
B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, other technical disciplines, or equivalent work experience.
Benefits and Compensation listed vary based on the location of your employment and the nature of your employment with SailPoint.
As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the SailPoint Corporate Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission, along with potential eligibility for equity participation. SailPoint maintains broad salary ranges for its roles to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect SailPoint's differing products, industries, and lines of business. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity. We estimate the base salary, for US-based employees, will be in this range from (min-max, USD):
$104,200 - $175,584.00
Base salaries for employees based in other locations are competitive for the employee's home location.
