Responsibilities

The International Sales Trainee will learn the organization’s policies, products, and/or services in preparation for sales responsibilities with the goal of developing an international sales career in the building materials industry. International Sales Trainees acquire knowledge of international trade, division, and industry practices through on-the-job training, including but not limited to: assisting the international sales team with customer inquiries and order processing, identifying and researching potential overseas customers and markets, preparing sales quotations, anticipating and meeting customer needs. Filling customer orders, acquiring basic product knowledge, and developing knowledge of customer quality expectations. Contacting customers regarding market fluctuations and trends. Interacting, building, and maintaining strong relationships with both domestic and international customers and suppliers. Communicating with international customers, monitoring international market trends and competitor activities, maintain customer records. Assigned product management, selection of product vendors, purchasing, pricing, and promoting assigned products. Learning international trade regulations, export procedures, and Incoterms. Assisting in achieving sales targets and business growth objectives. Complete special projects as needed. Safety Awareness: Demonstrate strong commitment to integrity, respect, safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications: College Degree or equivalent work experience in related job function. Working conditions are an office environment with moderate physical exertion. Spanish proficiency, both verbal and written.

Preferred Qualifications: Effective communication skills, and ability to work well with team members. Knowledge of international trade and export processes. Negotiation and customer service skills. Ability to work in a multicultural environment. Experience in the building materials industry a plus
