Position Type: Internal, DIrect Hire

Location: Wilkes Barre, CA (On-site)

Salary: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour


Job Summary


We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Safety Coordinator to join our team in Wilkes Barre, PA. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations, and promoting a strong culture of safety across our local operations. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, highly observant, and familiar with workplace safety standards.


Key Responsibilities


  • Worksite Inspections: Conduct daily walkthroughs of the facility/field operations to identify potential hazards, evaluate risks, and ensure corrective actions are taken immediately.
  • Compliance Oversight: Monitor and enforce adherence to Cal/OSHA standards, with specific emphasis on local regional priorities such as the California Heat Illness Prevention standard and wildfire smoke compliance.
  • Safety Training & Onboarding: Assist in conducting safety orientations for seasonal staff and lead regular toolbox talks or safety meetings.
  • Incident Investigation: Document, investigate, and report any workplace injuries, near-misses, or safety violations. Help determine root causes and implement preventative measures.
  • Equipment Verification: Ensure that all personal protective equipment (PPE), first aid stations, and safety signage are fully stocked, operational, and properly utilized by staff.

Qualifications & Requirements


  • Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in a safety-related role (e.g., Safety Assistant, Coordinator, or Specialist), preferably within agriculture, warehousing, production, or logistics.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with Cal/OSHA regulations and general workplace safety practices.
  • Bilingual Skills (Preferred): Conversational or fluent Spanish is highly preferred to effectively communicate safety protocols with our diverse seasonal workforce.
  • Attributes: Strong leadership abilities, clear communication skills, and the capacity to walk and stand for extended periods in varying weather conditions.
