What you will do:

The Rec Room's Bartenders are an integral part of the team who provide an exceptional dining experience to each and every guest. The Bartender prepares alcoholic drinks and pours wine and beer for patrons of restaurants, bars, cocktail lounges, and other places where drinks are served. The Bartender is friendly and helpful, and is an expert with standard drink recipes while being flexible to follow guests' preferences or recipes. If you thrive in an energetic, fast-paced and social atmosphere, this may be the opportunity for you!

In this role, your responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Taking and filling drink orders, garnishing and serving drinks, collecting payment and operating POS
  • Maintaining a clean work area by cleaning up after guests, removing empty bottles and trash, replacing empty beer kegs and washing glasses and utensils
  • Monitoring and maintaining inventory by keeping track of wines, beers, liquors, and ordering bar supplies when required, and have stocked the bar by bringing liquor bottles, mixed drink ingredients, and other bar supplies from the storeroom to the bar
  • Maintaining a safe environment by checking guests' identification to ensure they meet the minimum drinking age, determining when a customer has had too much alcohol, stop serving and ensure a safe ride home is arranged, and by refusing service or even calling the police if necessary

Qualifications:

This role may be a perfect fit for you if:

  • You have a High-School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent
  • Candidates must be the required age of majority or older
  • You have a minimum of 1-2 years of Bartending experience
  • You can work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays
  • Completed Bartending classes preferred
  • You have knowledge of drink recipes
  • You have demonstrated time management and organizational skills
  • You have excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Provincially applicable sell, sale, and handling of alcohol certificate.
