Job description

Job Description: Transporter Administrator
Company: GMTCare – New Mexico
Location: Albuquerque, NM or Santa Fe, NM
Employment Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

About Us:

GMTCare is a mission-driven provider of non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) services, dedicated to helping individuals with mobility and healthcare access challenges get to where they need to be, safely, reliably, and compassionately. Since launching in 2009, GMTCare has grown into the largest NEMT provider in Nevada and expanded rapidly into Arizona and New Mexico. Today, we help thousands of people across the Southwest access vital care, one ride at a time.

At GMTCare, our values define us. Compassion, Attitude, Responsibility, and Excellence ("We CARE") shape every interaction, with our riders, partners, and each other. We operate a modern, safety-focused fleet equipped with GPS, vehicle tablets, and powered lifts, and we invest heavily in training with each driver completing over 80 hours before serving clients. This commitment to professionalism, integrity, and service defines the culture you’ll be joining — and leading.

About the Role:

This is not just a transporter role, and it’s not just an office role. It’s a high-impact operational position designed for experienced transporters who are ready to step into greater responsibility and visibility within GMTCare.

As a Transporter Administrator, you serve as a vital link between the field and leadership, continuing to transport patients while also supporting the organization, compliance, and daily coordination that keep operations running smoothly. Working closely with dispatch, operations leaders, and office staff, you’ll gain insight into how a large NEMT operation functions beyond the vehicle, with a visible impact on communication, workflow efficiency, and overall service delivery, making this role a strong stepping stone into other operational leadership opportunities

If you want more responsibility, more trust, and a clear opportunity to grow beyond a standard transporter role, this position offers a meaningful next step within a fast-growing NEMT organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Transportation Duties

  • Safe and professional patient transport between residences and medical facilities.
  • Assist patients with entering and exiting vehicles, including wheelchair, stretcher, and mobility aid support.
  • Secure passengers and medical equipment according to safety protocols.
  • Communicate with dispatch regarding trip status, delays, and route updates.
  • Perform pre and post trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance concerns.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness and operational readiness.
  • Complete trip documentation, logs, and electronic reporting accurately and on time.
  • Follow HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Lift and assist up to 125 pounds when required for transfers and equipment handling.

Administrative and Office Support

  • Support operations staff with scheduling coordination and daily workload management.
  • Assist with data entry, trip verification, report preparation, and document organization.
  • Prepare internal communications, operational updates, and administrative correspondence.
  • Track compliance items including training documentation, certifications, and driver files.
  • Assist leadership with calendar coordination, meeting preparation, and task follow ups.
  • Support onboarding documentation, uniform tracking, and equipment inventory records.
  • Identify workflow inefficiencies and recommend operational improvements.
  • Serve as a communication bridge between field staff and office leadership.

Professional Conduct and Compliance

  • Maintain confidentiality of company and patient information.
  • Demonstrate professionalism in office and field environments.
  • Adhere to all GMTCare safety policies, performance standards, and operational procedures.
  • Respond to urgent operational needs when required, including outside standard office hours.

Minimum Essential Functions:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. The Company will engage in the interactive process as required by applicable law.

  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance and the ability to work assigned schedules, including schedule adjustments as business needs require, consistent with applicable law.
  • Communicate effectively in English, including speaking, hearing, and exchanging information in person, by phone, radio, and electronic systems.
  • Maintain focus, attention to detail, and situational awareness while performing multiple tasks in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Analyze information, prioritize tasks, and exercise sound, job-related judgment in time-sensitive situations.
  • Use computers and standard office equipment, including frequent use of a keyboard, mouse, and multiple monitors, to process and review information.
  • Safely operate vehicles and maintain awareness of surroundings, including road conditions and environmental factors, when performing transport duties.
  • Lift, push, and maneuver patients and equipment weighing up to 125+ pounds, with or without assistance or appropriate equipment.
  • Stand, walk, bend, reach, and enter/exit vehicles, and remain seated for extended periods while driving or performing administrative tasks.
  • Work in varying environments, including office and field settings, with exposure to weather conditions, traffic, and medical environments, including potential exposure to bodily fluids or odors, while using appropriate safety precautions.
  • Maintain professionalism and composure while working under time pressure, frequent interruptions, and changing priorities.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 22 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver’s license with a minimum of three (3) years of driving experience.
  • Acceptable driving record in accordance with company standards (no major violations, suspensions, or at-fault accidents).
