Schedule: Monday-Friday, early AM start (typically 5-6 AM); home daily

Job Summary

Crown Distributors is Kansas's family-owned beverage distributor, hiring a Delivery Driver Trainee for our Salina facility. Local routes, no overnights, home every afternoon. No prior CDL or commercial driving experience is required. We cover 100% of your Class A CDL training costs. This is a paid, full-time entry-level role where you ride along with experienced drivers and work with a CDL instructor. Full-time, Monday through Friday with early morning starts (typically 5:00 to 6:00 a.m.); home daily, evenings off.


Responsibilities

  • Ride Along and Learn: Ride with experienced Delivery Drivers on local routes. Assist with safe loading, unloading, and customer service while learning the routes and procedures.
  • Complete CDL Training: Participate in our paid in-house Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT). Earn a CDL learner's permit, then your Class A license on the training plan.
  • Handle Product Safely: Help deliver beer, wine, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverages to retail accounts using a hand-truck and electric pallet jack. Rotate product first-in-first-out at every stop.
  • Maintain Credentials: Keep a DOT medical card and CDL learner's permit current throughout training. Stay compliant with company drug, alcohol, and motor vehicle policies.
  • Team Dependability: The team depends on each other. Reliable attendance and engaged training keep team resources and support available for the rest of the operation.

  • Pay: $18.40- $21.00 per hour during training, increasing to $52,000 to $56,000 per year upon promotion to Delivery Driver
  • Bi-weekly pay, plus on-demand pay available through Paylocity.
  • Up to 20 days of paid time off in your first year.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age (Federal requirement for interstate commercial driving).
  • Clean driving record and ability to pass DOT physical and obtain DOT medical card and CDL learner's permit.
  • Must be able to report to work reliably and maintain regular attendance.
  • Ability to lift 30-pound cases on a regular basis and handle kegs weighing up to 160 pounds. Material handling equipment (hand-trucks, electric pallet jacks) is used to move kegs and pallets.
  • Offers of employment are contingent upon successfully completing applicable background screenings, a post-offer physical examination, and drug screening consistent with company policy and applicable law.
