Job description

Job Title: Ride Operator

Job Summary: Ride Operators are responsible for safely operating rides they have been trained on in accordance with park policy.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Report to work 30 minutes before the park opens in the correct uniform, name badge and properly groomed.
  • Display a positive, cooperative attitude toward coworkers and guests.
  • Only operate rides you have been trained to operate.
  • Thoroughly inspect a ride and run a full, unloaded cycle before accepting passengers.
  • Follow all height regulations (check heights of all younger guests), age and other special rules.
  • Ensure all guests riding the ride have their hand stamp, armband or the correct number of tickets.
  • Assist in performing daily pre-opening inspection of your ride.
  • Help maintain accurate ride inspection records as instructed.
  • Maintain a clean work area.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Education/Experience:

  • Attending high school.
  • High school diploma or GED is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to push, pull, carry and lift up to 25lbs. consistently.
  • Physical exertion such as frequent bending, twisting, stretching, stooping and reaching overhead.
  • Standing and walking for long periods on surfaces such as uneven surfaces and hard flooring.
  • Varying work hours extending up to twelve (12) hour workdays under some circumstances.
  • Working outdoors in all weather conditions in a wide range of temperatures.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Display a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to establish priorities, works independently, and proceeds with objectives without supervision.
  • Good communication skills.

  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.
  • Adhere to company, state and federal safety standards and regulations.
