Kemper's products and services are making a real difference to our customers, who have unique and evolving needs. By joining our team, you are helping to provide an experience to our stakeholders that delivers on our promises.

Kemper is seeking a Business Systems Analyst to support a variety of business and technology initiatives across the organization within a nonstandard Auto insurance environment. This role partners with teams across digital solutions, security, compliance, legal, finance, procurement, facilities, and other enterprise functions to analyze business needs, document requirements, and support delivery of technology solutions aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements.

Current initiatives for this position primarily support external-facing websites, consent management, privacy compliance, automation, and testing efforts. The role will support enterprise privacy and data governance initiatives while also assisting with operational and administrative support activities for assigned applications and platforms. Project focus may evolve based on business priorities and organizational needs.

The Business Systems Analyst acts as a liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams and participates in business analysis, requirement documentation, testing, production support, and change management activities. This role also supports light application administration responsibilities including user provisioning/deprovisioning, role and permissions management, and operational support processes. The position works independently on smaller efforts and receives guidance and direction on more complex initiatives from Senior Analyst while participating in SAFe Agile processes.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Conduct requirements gathering sessions and participate in the analysis and documentation of business and system requirements.
  • Translate business needs into user stories and acceptance criteria utilizing SAFe Agile and BDD/Gherkin methodologies.
  • Document workflows, process flows, data mappings, system interactions, and functional design documentation.
  • Participate in SAFe Agile delivery activities including backlog refinement, sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and Program Increment (PI) planning.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, developers, architects, and project teams to clarify requirements, validate solutions, and communicate project status, risks, and issues.
  • Support testing activities including test case development, defect management, traceability validation, and user acceptance testing.
  • Support change management, production readiness, deployment, and post-production support activities.
  • Support administration and operational activities for assigned applications and platforms, including user access, role management, and permissions support.
  • Support enterprise privacy, consent management, compliance, and data governance initiatives, including analysis and support of external-facing digital experiences.
  • Maintain knowledge of business processes, technical platforms, and evolving compliance and regulatory requirements while adhering to corporate policies and standards.

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 2-4 years of experience in business systems analysis or related IT/business roles.
  • Experience in insurance, financial services, or other regulated industries preferred.
  • Working knowledge of business analysis practices, requirements gathering, and documentation techniques.
  • Working knowledge of SDLC methodologies including SAFe Agile and Waterfall with experience supporting Agile delivery teams preferred.
  • Experience with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Visio, ServiceNow, or similar platforms.
  • Experience supporting external-facing digital platforms, privacy/compliance initiatives, or application administration activities preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, communication, and data analysis skills with the ability to support validation, troubleshooting, reporting activities, and work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies, business processes, and regulatory concepts.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment with primary office locations in Jacksonville, FL or Birmingham, AL.
