Job description

Basalite Building Products, LLC is one of the largest manufacturers of concrete masonry products in the Western United States. Product lines include structural block, interlocking paving stones, engineered wall systems, retaining walls, ornamental and garden products, and a full range of sack goods. SALARY RANGE - $18.00 - $20.00 HR/DOE
POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Sack Plant Supervisor, this position supports the sack plant in all areas of production. This position is responsible for feeding empty bags into the packing machine and is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success. Performs other related duties as assigned.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: General
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Feeds bags into packing machine.
  • Ensures that bags are filled to the correct weight by following proper procedures and not touching bags with hands or any other object that may distort bags' weight.
  • Oversee auto functions on bag palletizer.
  • Performs and documents daily pre-operational inspections on equipment and work areas
  • Forklift operation is required
  • Regularly meets with supervisor
  • Maintains work area clean and clutter free per company standards
  • All other duties and responsibilities assigned from time to time by the company or its designated representatives
  • Attends safety meetings and abides by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies; ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
  • Predictable, and Regular attendance is required.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • On-the-job training experience is required to be able to perform duties
  • Ability to operate bagging equipment and any other equipment required to perform duties.
  • Forklift operational experience is beneficial.
  • Requires basic math, reading and writing skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with peers, customers and superiors.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Predictable, and Regular attendance is required.
