Our client, Energy Utilities company, specializing in renewable energy production, is actively seeking an accomplished SQL Data Analyst.

Position: SQL Data Analyst (Job Id – 26-01194)

Location: New York NY 10003 (100% Onsite)

Duration: 6 Months + Possible Extension

  • Reviewing, validating, and analyzing large and complex datasets
  • Working across multiple data repositories and source systems
  • Combining datasets using SQL, including complex joins and data transformations
  • Identifying data quality issues, anomalies, trends, and outliers
  • Determining whether data is appropriate and sufficient for a particular analysis
  • Translating data into meaningful business/operational insights
  • Building reports, dashboards, visualizations, and/or other analytical products
  • Developing repeatable reporting and analytical processes
  • Supporting testing and validation of analytical tools and methodologies
  • Troubleshooting data issues and performing root-cause analysis
  • Communicating findings and escalating data issues appropriately
  • Working collaboratively with engineers, clean energy program managers, and subject matter experts
  • Helping refine data aggregations, such as rolling customer account-level information into building-level profiles

MUST HAVE:

  • 2+ years of professional data analysis experience
  • Strong SQL experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Experience analyzing large and/or complex datasets
  • Experience working with data from multiple source systems
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow defined processes
  • Ability to identify anomalies, inconsistencies, and data quality issues rather than simply reporting what the data says
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to investigate, track, communicate, and escalate issues with appropriate urgency
  • Ability to manage multiple workflows and priorities in a fast-paced environment

NICE TO HAVE

  • Utility industry experience – highly preferred but not required
  • Experience with electric utility/customer usage data
  • Exposure to AMI, GIS, or real-time operational datasets
  • Clean energy experience, including EVs, batteries, electrification, or grid-related initiatives
