Registered Dietitian

POSITION: Registered Dietitian

DEPARTMENT: Clinic

HOURS: 72 hours per pay period/Non-Exempt

WAGE: $33.10 - $42.55 hourly

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Registered Dietitian is responsible for providing evidence-based nutrition assessment, medical nutrition therapy, education, and counseling across the continuum of care in both the clinic and hospital settings. This role collaborates with patients, providers, and interdisciplinary team members to promote disease prevention, improve health outcomes, and support chronic disease management through individualized nutrition care. The Registered Dietitian also contributes to program development, quality improvement initiatives, community outreach, and patient education while maintaining professional standards, regulatory compliance, and current evidence-based practice.
  • Collaborates with Hospital and Dietary Services on the development, review, and periodic evaluation of patient and resident menus to ensure nutritional quality, regulatory compliance, and alignment with evidence-based practice.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/TRAINING:

  • Registered Dietitian/Registered Dietitian Nutritionist
  • Must obtain minimum requirement of continuing education hours every five years. (These CEU's must be awarded from an agency that accredits continuing education programs.)
  • Working knowledge of medical nutrition therapy.

SKILLS:

  • Effective communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally and effectively with clients, physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, and coworkers (verbal and written).

  • Organizational skills.
  • Work independently with minimal direction.
